My friends and I went a few weeks ago to have the unlimited mimosas at brunch but it was not being served. The owner did accommodate us. We had a good time, even though we were pretty much the only ones in there. The food was good and so was the music. The staff were great and kept us smiling. This was the first time I had jollof rice and it was good. I would like to go back and see the other brunch experience.

I came from out of town to visit my friend Sam and she brought me to this restaurant because I told her I wanted to try the suya and I’m so glad that she brought me!!! The decor was beautiful. Lots of colorful lighting and comfortable, inviting seating. The DJ was AMAZING. I danced in my seat the whole time I was there. AND THE FOOD!!! TOTAL SWOON!!! I am STILL dreaming about the grilled suya!!! It was seasoned and cooked to perfection!!! The spring rolls and mozzarella sticks and jollof rice were amazing as well. I will come here every time I visit DC!!! Thank you, Victoria, for a wonderful experience!!!

Just had a dinner party planned for after a wedding and they only had two staff members working. Food wasn’t delivered to guests. Party members had to act as waiters. Money was paid up front. Horrible experience.

Great place for drinks. Food wasn’t that great. Don’t waste your money on the “ Premium” selection which is $50.00. Those who got the regular brunch ($25) were still able to get seafood and “endless mimosas” that actually end,if you catch my drift. The buffet isn’t your normal buffet. They serve you, you don’t serve yourself. With long lines and the nerve to set a time frame, they could do better. However, my hostess was EVERYTHING!

I went to Balkonie for the first time this past weekend for a birthday celebration and was not pleased with the food options for the brunch buffet. When you arrive, you must pay at the door before entering. So, I made the mistake of getting the “platinum” option that included crab legs, shrimp and unlimited mimosas sight unseen. Much to my dismay, the food was bland to say the least and there wasn’t a lot to choose from; it was a complete waste of $61! I was also surprised that although it was a lounge type atmosphere with a DJ and drinks flowing, there were several little ones there. It should be an adult only brunch due to the fact it’s giving club vibes. The staff and owners were very nice, but they have some work to do in regard to the quality of food.

This place use to be nice until after covid lockdown. They charge you extra for each drink you bought which doesn’t make any sense..’called it service fees’. Which is stupid..It so funny I went there on Friday which I was expecting a lot of people inside but it was only 2 of us until I left. I was so surprised then I realized why they did not have many customers as a big club. I don’t think I will be going there any time soon.
