It all started with a passion for real, made-from-scratch cooking in a food truck that traversed Manhattan and Brooklyn, embracing the vibrant culture of the city. Today, MEXiCUE has evolved into a restaurant — and lively bar scene — that does things a little differently than the other guys. A little more boldly, and with a lot more flavor and fun.
We smoke, braise, char, pickle, juice, mash, grind and create — in a way that is inspired by the Mexican tradition, all with a twist of the American South. MEXiCUE is the ultimate place to unwind and dine — or order a round of tequila to take the night to the next level.
Mexican BBQ menus & cocktails combine at this lively, casual spin-off of a popular food truck. Based on 57 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.0 stars. Price

MEXiCUE is one of our favorite places in town to go to. The nachos are the best! We really like the flautas and the smoky chicken burritos too. We like to unwind on Friday’s with their delicious margaritas. It’s a fun to sit in the bar for date night or bring friends. We really enjoy the vibes. The Managers are always attentive, the bartenders and staff are great too.

We experienced Mexicue for the first time at their new Westport location! The fusion of Mexican and BBQ is super unique and something that I think works really well together. We absolutely loved the nachos we had for an appetizer – plenty of toppings spread throughout, and the burnt ends added on was a game changer. The guac was tasty too, and I really liked the bacon. We enjoyed our tacos, but I was a little disappointed in the lack of ground beef filling on the El Americano (folded taco in the pictures, I probably should’ve taken a pic of it opened), especially considering the taco goes for over $7. The birria platter was a great size, and we liked the pulled pork tacos. However, we did find the consome broth to be a bit too salty, and I would’ve been happier with less pickled red onions on the rice and beans. Loved the street corn ribs though, it made it very easy to eat! Overall, I was impressed with the service and how quickly the food came out for such a newly opened restaurant, they were definitely on the ball. We had a nice date night here, and I think we’ll both be thinking about those nachos for a while!

The food, drinks, and dessert were all surprisingly very good and tasteful. I ordered the brisket tacos and they were the best I’ve had in recent memory. Unfortunately, our waiter disappeared halfway through the meal and I had to go to the bar myself to be able to pay and leave. Service like that kills new places around here so I’m hoping they can get that fixed.

Had a lunch on a Sunday. Tried a few tacos. The interior atmosphere is nice and overlooking main street you can watch what’s going by. However when I compare this to Bartaco (a quarter of a mile away across the river) I can’t imagine this place surviving more than a season unless they make some changes. Their price point is between 1.4X – 2X Bartaco, their food isn’t better, their location especially in the summer, is worse. Service compared to the efficient QR system at bartaco is much slower (and I was here when only 5 tables were seated). To survive I think they need to pivot in some meaningful way. Resetting their price point down is the most obvious option to me.

Went here for a Sunday lunch and the food was great! All of our options were a little on the spicy side, but the flavor was great on every bite. The portion sizes were also great for the price as well. We will definitely be back!

UPDATE: we returned after a month or so. 20+ minutes to get our drink is ridiculous and we had already received and eaten most of our appetizers. service was pretty much non-existent and the manager had to step in and do the waitresses job. also the great music we experienced the first visit was no more. probably won’t return.

This is the most insanely expensive Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. Bar taco is right across the bridge, with better food and 1/2 the cost.

I came to this spot to grab a bite while I worked on photos between sessions. So glad I came. Great tunes, solid service and the Jamburrito is amazing! To give you an idea of how good it is, Im still at the restaurant while I write this review.

Nice ambience, hip and lively. Friendly waiters. Tuna nachos were good. I had the fish tacos and they were a little bit too tangy for me. My husband had the brisket tacos and they were delicious. Hot churros with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for desert was a perfect ending.
