This isn’t a place for a quick dinner. The Circle is unlike anything else in Sussex County. By far the best food I have ever had. The people in my party worked in Manhattan for years and said The Circle is on par with the best restaurants Manhattan has to offer. The food is spectacular and although portions appear small, they are surprisingly filling. The wait staff were very attentive without being in the way or disruptive. Our waitress was very friendly and made us feel right at home. The building is beautiful. It is obvious that a lot of thought, skill and planning went into each menu item. Can’t wait to go back!!!

Believe the reviews. This is possibly the best restaurant I’ve ever been to, full stop. I had the best tomato I’ve ever had in my entire life. The best oyster. The best pesto. The best piece of salmon. All in one meal. This is an absolutely phenomenal experience, I could write entire chapters about how excellent it was. Don’t even get me started on the service, which was flawless. Every dish perfectly timed. Wait staff seems to appear precisely when you need them, and never when you don’t. I need to cut this review off or I will write a book-length manuscript on the excellence of this restaurant.

Best restaurant within a large radius – very large radius. Depends on what you like, however – this is not a single course huge portion place. This is influenced by the chefs’ Michelin Star backgrounds, and as such, this is best experienced as a multi course meal. It’s an experience, and not something you just drop in on a Friday night hoping to order something quick and go home. The food will blow you away, but don’t just go because you see a high score on Google, know what you’re getting in to (which is an awesome dining experience).

Fantastic new fine dining experience right outside of Newton. Dishes that highlight local ingredients in a very simple-seeming way yet are full of surprises. Cozy seating in little rooms with Scandinavian-esque minimalist decor, charming and professional staff.

I loved this place from beginning to end. It is BYOB so we enjoyed their very tasty food with some of our wine The duck fat fries were absolutely delicious the main dishes were just as amazing.

I was extremely happy with my dinner at The Circle. Easily one of the best restaurants in the county. I took my parents out to dinner and it was all positives from the food to the service. BYO is also a great plus. We took the recommendation of our server and ordered starters a pasta and our main. If you’re going that route, I’d probably recommend going the tasting menu route.

We had a small birthday dinner at the circle this past weekend and I just want to say how wonderful the entire staff was and how much they contributed to making our evening special. Thank you Izzy – you were so wonderful and handled our group like a true professional. The service, food and cocktails were spectacular. I highly recommend everything, but especially loved the oysters, and duck! This was our fourth time at the restaurant and you guys never disappoint. Thank you!

Wow! It’s quite evident the two chef owners have a background in Michelin star dining, and bring a true gem to Sussex county. It would be easy to drive by and not realize you were passing a converted farmhouse turned fine dining restaurant. As we park and walk in it’s clear in it’s confidence and unpretentious atmosphere. Service was impeccable, the food, delightful. They offer both ala carte and a chef’s tasting menu. Each dish was creative and balanced and of course, delicious! A newly acquired liquor license as of January 2023 brings everything (forgive the pun) full circle. Each cocktail we had was elegant and nuanced and worth every penny. Whomever put the menu together clearly knows what they are doing. If you are looking for NYC quality food in northwest NJ, look no further. Truly one of the best restaurants I’ve eaten at in the entire state. We’ll certainly be keeping this in our nicer evening out rotation, and I highly suggest you give The Circle a try!

We loved The Circle when it first opened as it showed inventiveness that is difficult to get in this neck of the woods. Regrettably not anymore. What was formerly a BYOB has now obtained a liquor license which is of course their prerogative but we had no idea. We arrived Sunday after dining there many times, with our wine and were told “you know we have a liquor license” well how could we as there is absolutely nothing on their website. They also informed us that the corkage is $30. This was the first unfortunate occurrence of what was to be an abysmal experience. The amount of the corkage is on the high side of what we experienced in other restaurants with liquor licenses. In addition, the wine list was extremely small and did not offer an appropriate selection. The right thing to do in this instance was to inform us that they had a liquor license and that we were welcome to open our own bottles at that time but in the future, there would be a corkage of $30. We then ordered our meal. Firstly, with respect to the amuse serving a fried potato with some sauce on top after being there numerous times lacks some inventiveness, given the chefs’ pedigree. We typically look forward to the oysters, but in our view they were over adorned, and did not possess the wonderful brininess that one looks forward to when they eat an oyster. The cauliflower soup was acceptable at best but the consistency was overly thick. I opted for the gnocchi which were highly recommended. While the preparation had promise, the gnocchi itself seemed fried and greasy. Now for the main courses. My duck was flavorful but offered two slices of duck breast with tidbits of accompaniments. We were told that the intention was that of a taco al pastor, well not really. My husband had to send the pork chop back as it was over cooked and dry and when the second one came, while less done it still was seemingly dry. In addition the sauce was more of an afterthought and topping versus being incorporated into the dish. We both left hungry and we are not people who gravitate to large portion restaurants. We would remiss if we did not mention that Michelle our server is lovely and typically the service there is very good. We hesitated writing this review but after reliving the experience and how much we spent $250+ we became more and more upset. We loved going to The Circle as at the beginning it offered some uniqueness to a NJ landscape of Italian restaurants but something is falling very short. We are both in the hospitality business and have eaten at the best restaurants. Such a disappointment.
