Staff was very friendly, we liked the Lomo Saltado, the flavor was good, tender meat and great white rice and seasoning. We think the sauces were plain. The Tallarines verdes milanesa was good, the noodles were a little over cooked, papa a la Huancaina was good. Prices a reasonable. We will come back to try more dishes.

Today I went to try it out, their menu changes daily so I didn’t mind. But I paid $18 for ONE chicken leg, basmati rice that wasn’t cooked thoroughly and they put the potato salad next to it so it was warm. If you’re going to charge that much for one chicken leg with the sides, the least you can do is afford to go plates that are sectioned. I won’t be back.

I recently had the pleasure of stumbling upon the El Causa Food truck, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be! As a food enthusiast always on the lookout for unique culinary experiences, this food truck offered an exciting journey through the flavors of Peru.

We’re pescetarian (only seafood and veggies). This place has an amazing ceviche with fish and shrimp. They customize the spice level to your taste. Super friendly folks – just like family. They always greet you with smiles and conversation. They will customize dishes; we’ve ordered a pasta dish that usually comes with chicken, but they will happily omit the meat to suit our diet. We’ve also tried some of their side dishes, home made beverages, and sauces and always enjoy the amazing flavors! They have a small parking area, but we usually find a spot. They offer an outdoor seating area that is usually covered with a canopy/tarp. This place is a favorite of ours! ❣️

Was craving some good peruvian ceviche. I had a taste for authentic ceviche. Had did a search and the food truck pops up. I figured this would be perfect it would be quick and convenient. I approached the truck and the BBQ chicken aroma also caught my attention. The owners were very friendly. I ordered the ceviche and let me tell you it brought me memories of traveling in peru and hanging out at the beaches with a fresh plate of ceviche. The ceviche was fresh flavorful and a good portion. I ordered the chicken as well and it was juicy flavorful and a large portion. I was definitely impressed and content of my food choice. This place is a hidden gem and has some amazing ceviche and other peruvian dishes. Will definitely be back. You no longer go to businesses snd where customer satisfaction and service is a must. Businesses have lost there touch where the customer doesn’t matter. This place was awesome. They will continue to get my business.

We were disappointed, because we were anticipating a 4.5 star restaurant, had our minds set for Lomo Saltado only to find out that dishes alternate from day to day. The portions were rather small for the price. The imitation crab in the “seafood” was tasteless and soggy. Needless to say, we were left longing for better quality Peruvian food.

I hadn’t been to Hayward for about four or five years, and I felt like eating at a dimly-lit bar where I can hear a lot of swearing, so i went to look for a kooky old steakhouse I really enjoyed then. Sadly it was gone, but I’m not sad…because I subsequently discovered the home-style Peruvian gem of El Causa.
