We went here for lunch while visiting the area. This is a neat little 50’s style diner. We both had the lunch special burger, which was a smash style burger which was very good. Served with lots of fries, but we also ordered the onion rings, which are home made and excellent. Service was quick and friendly. Wish we had found this place earlier. Best burger that we’ve had in a while.

A cute diner with so many choices that it was hard to decide what to order. We got the onion rings appetizer, and it was amazing. We all liked what we ordered. Fries were plentiful and tasted good. We ordered malts with our meals, and they were some of the best malts we’ve had. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was retro. We enjoyed watching the TV screens with old TV shows rolling through. The only thing that would have been better is hearing the theme songs for the shows.

We wanted to grab a quick lunch as we drove from McGhee Tyson airport to Townsend and picked the Hot Rods diner. We sure were not disappointed! We ordered vegetarian food – the eggplant parmesan hoagie (with a side of fried okra), double green avocado burger (with a side of sweet potato fries) and pimento cheese balls and every dish tasted amazing! The service was good and we loved the ambience of the restaurant – the jukebox, the 90’s cartoons and the decor.

This place is very cute. Visited on a Sunday evening and there was a little bit of a wait due to all the tables being full. The 2 seater tables were completely empty, not sure why they weren’t using them. I really enjoyed the double green burger and fries. The onion rings looked good, but were very greasy. They even left a puddle on the plate, never had that happen with onion rings. Cobb salad was ok. The menu is almost overwhelmingly extensive.

Honestly, my wife and I went in expecting a run of the mill 50s diner, what we got was completely unexpected. We arrived at about 11:15 on Saturday morning and the place was almost empty. Within 20 minutes, the place was almost full. The decor inside is spot on and there are many different signs and funny images plastered everywhere. We ordered the onion rings for our appetizer, and were delivered hands down, the best onion rings I have had in 40 years. That honor belongs to a restaurant in Marshfield, MA, but these onion rings completely out tasted them. They have become my new standard for comparing onion rings. I got the bacon Swiss burger and fries. The first bite of that burger was amazing. Real beef, fresh lettuce, tomato and onion and the pickles were crisp and flavorful without being overbearing, and while I was expecting steak fries, the moderately sized shoestring fries they brought out were almost as amazing as the onion rings. My wife and I agreed that we have found a new regular dining spot, just make sure you get there early.
