Ate here for the first time tonight. Service and food were excellent! Had the pork tenderloin sandwich special. Best I’ve ever had! Nice size tenderloin, great batter (not heavily breaded), and priced right (6.99). Service was fast and the waitress checked with us appropriately. Very concerned that it was nearly deserted due to past poor management. Hope they do well. Will be back.

New place, unorganized, definitely not Kansas City barbecue. I will start off with the looks. There is no ambience, not much decoration, and not creative. Small menu. The staff didn’t look like they know what to do. I ordered Ribs( which tells me if the overall food is good or not), and those ribs are probably the worst I have ever tasted. They weren’t tender, so tough, and it was extremely hard to get the meat off the bone without getting it in your teeth. Had to eat burnt ends instead and they were okay.

I have been to Smokin Bones now 3 times for lunch, and will tell you that the wings are the best on this side of the lake. The BBQ sandwich is a meal in itself. Service is good, but one day they were busy and had to wait a little bit, but the food is worth the wait and overall my experiences were good. Will definitely eat there again.

Years ago our favorite restaurant at the lake was B&Ps. It closed after some unfortunate circumstances and we’ve missed it ever since. We tried out Smokin Bones today because it recently opened and to our surprise, we found out it’s the spiritual successor to B&Ps! The owner of B&Ps is now the manager at Smokin Bones as of a few weeks ago and the menu and delicious barbeque sauce is the same. We ordered the Hogger, Piglet, pork tenderloin, hamburger, chicken tenders, and a few other things and it was all so good! We got there a little late around 8:00pm so there wasn’t much of a wait and our waitress was nice and friendly. The decor and atmosphere could use a little work, but the food is the same great food that kept us going back to B&Ps for years and years. The manager is so nice and even remembered our group from years ago. This place is young and new and in good hands!

Food from the menu is very good; had the Sunday Buffet once; don’t recommend it. Not much variety; food was not hot and except for the chicken, was not worth the price. Always have excellent service. Will go back and order off the menu; fries are excellent!!

Went in at 6pm and there was no one at all on the resturant side. Walked around, couldn’t find anyone. Waited 10 min. Saw staff on the lounge side, they never addressed nor acknowledged I was there. This place obviously doesnt care about you if you’re not there to smoke and drink beer in the lounge. Chances’ R I’ll not be back. Which sucks because I just moved here from out of state and they are a mile from home.

Waited over an hour to be told they were just starting the order, told they were just slammed, when in the whole hour and a half there was only 2 other tables both of which had their food, was told by waitress that the 2 cooks they had were chewing the rest of the staff out, and that they couldn’t get in touch with the owner cause they’ve been having problems all day. Left without food, and went to resturant down the road that was actually slammed and still got food at a reasonable time.

Got a seat immediately in the bar area. Bartender was awesome. However, waited over an hour for sandwiches…never received dinner! Paid bill and left. Can’t evaluate food….never got it!
