Coffeesmith, a Forest Lake Coffee Shop, was founded by Calvin Waddle, a Forest Lake native with a love for coffee. After working in the specialty coffee industry for a few years, Calvin fell in love with the business and the level of customer interaction that it came with. His passion for connecting people was fueled by a mutual love for coffee and conversation. Coffeesmith products are hand-crafted and high-quality products. We use farm-fresh milk, house-made flavored syrups, and Minnesota-roasted coffee from Duluth Coffee Company.

While this place was very busy when we went, and while I liked that this coffee shop was located on the ground floor of a house, I wasn’t really a fan of the coffee itself. I don’t know what it was exactly (maybe it was too bitter or burnt?), but either way, I didn’t really like the taste of it.

Great little find passing through town!! Amazing coffee with house made syrups and very precise pouring process. You can tell they take coffee serious. Their breakfast sandwich was amazing and the atmosphere was very welcoming. A very well curated hang out spot located in an old house. I wish we were closer and could visit more!

Went here for a coffee date. We will definitely be going back again to try their other flights of coffee. They have a lot of different options for coffees, this includes multiple options for coffee flights and some non-coffee coffee flights. I got the barista signature, which included a 5oz Bourbon Caramel latte, a 5oz Almond Vanilla Latte, and a 5oz Miel (honey and cinnamon flavored). They have a couple of different options for pastries, I got the ham and cheese croissant. The overall atmosphere was pleasant and very welcoming. They even have a coffee shop dog that is very friendly.

Best spot in town to have some great coffee!! Louie the mini dog there is a heart stealer!! He has the best Love!! His kisses are so warm and sweet!! Staff is great Calvin his sister and brother are all great!! Their grandma is the sweetest little lady!! I got the pleasure of playing my beautiful hand pan there!! I love this place!! I had to even buy a shirt so I could represent the best coffee shop in town!! Hands down a must to have coffee and food!! Thank you guys for all your hard work!!

Stop in here for coffee! Really neat building, very friendly staff and great drink. Large Latte to go for me. They use Duluth Coffee . The building itself is done up well – large, airy, a place to hang out or just to grab coffee. The upstairs seemed blocked off right now – unsure what’s happening there but could be fun. Easy in-and-out by car from Highway 61. Good coffee and reasonably priced. Barista with hat was a friendly person to get coffee from. I’ll be in again.

Amazing coffee shop in an old historic home with a gorgeous wrap around porch a few blocks from main street. We enjoyed a tasty scone & very good (gf?) doughnut! It’s definitely worth the stop while in Forest Lake!
