Everything was amazing! The food was fresh and hot and well seasoned. The service was pretty good and there wasn’t a long wait for the food. I really enjoyed the fried fish, macaroni and cheese and pork chop. tried a little bit of everyone’s food that I went with. I only wished they served cocktails but that won’t deter me from coming back. I’m coming back without a doubt, I just wish it was closer to me.

Austin ain’t even ready for Whip My Soul. It’s seriously the best comfort food in Austin. It was our first visit and the place was packed, lines out the door and it’s worth the wait 1000%. We tried a lot of everything, wings, tenders, waffle, okra, cheesy mac, fried cabbage (on the weekend only TO DIE FOR). Plus, koolaid on taaapppp?!? All the koolaid options and it’s delicious just like the 80s, not too sweet (if you know, you know) So fullll and can’t wait to go back.

Heard a lot about the restaurant and decided to try it out. When we walked in it wasn’t very busy so it didn’t take long to order. Doesn’t seem like enough seating though. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. The overall taste of the sandwich was good but the fries could have been cooked a little longer because they tasted uncooked. The service was good.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday by taking her to Whip My Soul, and they didn’t disappoint! It’s crazy busy so expect to wait, but the food is worth it! The space isn’t very big and it’s packed from wall to wall. I had fish, waffles, mac and cheese, and cabbage. The food is seasoned so well and fresh. We have to go back to try some more food!

It was Easter Sunday and I was craving some Soul Food after church since I’m new to Austin. The closest restaurant near me was Whip My Soul and did it do just that! The young man at the register was very kind and offered excellent customer service. He informed me about the wait, but since it was a holiday I expected that much, plus it’s made fresh so I was cool with that. The interior is pleasing and it was good to have tv watching options while I waited. I received my food from a very hospitable server. One look at the food had my mouth watering. The aesthetics of the food were very pleasing and the taste…. Oh my goodness EVERYTHING was so delicious. I was missing my family and our Easter Sunday dinners, but Whip My Soul made me feel like I was back at home. Thank you. I will definitely become a Sunday regular. Oh and the kool-aid was nostalgic and the lemon cake!

Delicious!!! What a great experience. The food was hot and comforting. Exceeded my expectations. The Mac and cheese egg rolls were so good!!! Catfish was fresh. I could tell that they used fresh oil. I’m only disappointed I didn’t try it sooner.

I would come to this place 100 times over again if it meant I got to keep eating this food. There is something so satisfying about a really good plate of soul food. The tenders, fish, and wings all have a irresistible spice blend on them that was both sweet and salty, meaning none of them needed any salt. The greens were savory and well cooked while the candied yams were sweet and fell apart at the touch. Both the hushpuppies and the fried okra were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The mac and cheese was ridiculously creamy with perfectly cooked al dente noodles. The cornbread was crumbly and sweet, the perfect compliment to the salty mains. The selection of drinks was also awesome, with real cane sugar sodas and a huge variety of koolaid. Overall, do NOT skip on this place, you’ll surely regret this.
