I used to work close to this restaurant for a number of years, and every chance i got, i came to this restaurant. Whenever we had out of town guests at where i worked, i made it a point to bring them to this restaurant. The staff from the owner, George, down to the busboy were all exceptionally polite and accommodating. Never had a bad meal, and none of the guests I brought, ever complained. So when i read some of the bad reviews, I’m very surprised. Even now, after I retired, whenever my wife and I are in the area, we make it a point to stop and have lunch.

Vito’s is an old style Italian restaurant. What I appreciate most is getting the servers opinion and he doesn’t recommend the most expensive item on the menu which happens more than I like. The portions are large so try not to go overboard on the bread before hand and you will have to bring an extra stomach if you want desert which is also very delicious. The prices are a little higher than I like but when in San Jose, everything is expensive. I would definitely return again in the future.

Really good Italian restaurant. Everything was excellent. The calamari fritti were cooked perfectly and were tender. The clam chowder was one of the best I’ve had. The veal Siciliana was recommended by the waiter and did not disappoint. The desserts were great. Our favorite was the bananas royal.
