Pompano Joe’s opened its doors in 1995 and quickly became known for their unique Caribbean style of seafood. Since then, it has become a destination restaurant for tourists and a favorite among the locals.
The Caribbean flair shines through from our famous Reggae Rolls and Garlic Crusted Grouper to the brightly covered window frames that line the walls of our open-air restaurant.

This place is fantastic. Dinner tonight was 5 star. We were sat at our table outside immediately upon arrival. Service was great and the food was spot on. We had shrimp and cocktail sauce as an appetizer, grilled grouper with lobster tail, and snow crab legs for the main course. Put PJ’s on your Destin dine list.

Amazing place to eat right on the beach. Came here for our anniversary & the food and drinks were great! Definitely recommend the PJs Punch & Grouper Guadalupe. The nachos were good, but the next time we go, we will stick to the Reggae Rolls! Definitely try this place out if you’re visiting or even as a local like ourselves. It’s a nice little getaway & quick stroll down to the beach.

The food was okay, but the views from their deck were great. We ordered the gumbo and a couple of fish entrées, and they were all pretty bland. My husband’s fish was overcooked and dry. He ate a couple of bites and gave up. I’d recommend coming here to just grab a couple of drinks and enjoy the views of the beach from their deck. Pass on the food.

We got the blackened grouper sandwich meal. It has a kick to it, if you like spicy, very tender fish. Price reasonable, we paid about $60 for 2 meals. Try to come earlier, we came at 7pm and waited for about and hour and a half but definitely worth the wait!

Everything was delicious. I especially like the margarita. The atmosphere was also superb, with great beach views. We came in the afternoon so just waited 10 minutes to be seated but parking was definitely a hassle.

This restaurant was amazing!!! Very convenient right at the beach. After having a fun morning in the water we came to Pompano to have lunch and it was great. My husband ordered the oysters, my mother-in-law ordered the salmon, I had the coconut shrimp, and my baby the kids chicken fingers and everything was so delicious. The kids food is served in a frisbee plate that they get to keep afterwards. We enjoyed eating and looking at the waves. It was really delightful and the service was amazing. When I’m back at Destin this will be one of my stops for sure.

Pompano Joe’s has very friendly hosts, with a great view on Miramar Beach. The open air seating, inside and out, makes for Good seats all around. Outside seating’s only concern is the waning shade. Food and drinks with a great beach view, and the joys of people watching.

We find this place by Googling maps for steak. My 14 year old said this was the best steak he ever had. I agree it’s close. Our server was attentive & all of our food was tasty. Vegetables need seasoning & to be cooked a lil’ longer 🙂 Beans & rice were amazing. Will definitely come back. We’re hooked. I would’ve gladly sat at our table forever taking in the view.

Casual beach spot featuring fresh seafood and beach views. Wait time was reasonable during prime dinner time. Go downstairs to the beach bar for a cocktail and appetizers while you wait. Snag a picnic table or play in the sand. Food is good. Roll up your sleeves and get the grilled crab legs or grouper louisianne. Kids meals include a frisbee. Nate was a good server. He visited often and brought anything we needed promptly.
