We have known about this place for about a year now. We finally got around to visiting and boy were we surprised. Very clean and well decorated in appropriate fashion. The service was great and the food was delicious. I really wish we had stopped in sooner. They prepare many things fresh daily that a lot of other restaurants get preprepared or frozen, and you can tell the difference. The menu items are family sized so unless you want leftover food (we did) just be aware. All in all it was a pleasurable experience and we will return with more people.

This is the place to go in Mountain Home. It’s about 15 min from downtown but worth the drive. Delicious Asian food, great service and many levels above the typical Chinese/Asian restaurants found everywhere. Their sweet and sour sauce is fresh, light, not that sticky red sauce from a can. Beef is tender and so is the pork and chicken. The spices and sauces are balanced. It is our favorite restaurant in the area. Mountain Home is lucky to have a place like Shiok. Kudos to the chef and staff.

I went here during a slow period but I have heard they can get busy, the food left little to be desire. It was fantastic. I was actually turned to this place by a friend and coworker for our anniversary. I was astonished at the quality and character of the food. There is no denying that the food is excellent. The staff is light and from my understanding can get a little overloaded but with patience I promise you the reward is worth the wait. The restaurant is small in some aspects but I felt comfortable. We felt appreciated and welcome and had quit the meal. I assure you if your planning to eat out this is one place I would recommend.

I cannot wait to come back. Great service and very clean restaurant. And the food hasn’t left my mind…and may never! Fresh, authentic and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend the Singapore curry, a side of the lo mein and the fish maw soup to start. There is a true tenderness about this place and I really enjoyed it.

The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious! The restaurant and bathroom was clean and spacious. This is now my go to place to get a great meal at a reasonable price and generous portions. The food is very fresh and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!!!

Good is really good. Great flavor! Day we went out was busy and they only had 1 person seating, cleaning, serving abd working front desk… she did great, but could have used 1 more person! Chicken curry was spicy… but really good! Rice was cooked perfectly! The interior is much more modern and clean than you’d think from the curb appeal of the exterior. Give it a chance. If in mtn home, it’s worth the visit!

Chose this restaurant from customer reviews. Driving across country & drove 12 miles from our hotel to eat here. First impression was to turn around & leave. Looks like a run down house from the outside & was in the middle of nowhere. Decided to stay since we had made the drive. Inside the decor was very cheap looking but we were seated quickly & placed our order. Food arrived quickly although my husband got his meal & mine did not arrive for several minutes. Both dishes beef & broccoli & garlic chicken were delicious. Glad we stayed enjoyed the meal but could definitely use some updating

Great food in an out of the way location. Found this place looking for a lunch spot in Mountain Home. In the running for best Asian food I’ve had in Idaho. Clean and cute simple place. We were a little worried when we pulled in and were the only people there, but I think getting there around 1:30 when they close the lunch run down at 2 explains that. We are so glad we checked it out. Split an appetizer and an entree and left full, but not sick full. And very satisfied. We’ll be back for sure next time we’re out playing in that area of the desert. A true hidden gem.
