The fried oysters were spot on, and the freshly made beignets were amazing. The crawfish and shrimp were pretty fresh surprisingly and etoufee was good but on the bland side and needed to add creole spice. Service was good, Atmosphere was homey and comfortable and fun–Thanks guys, looking forward to coming back. Fyi: reservations are recommended and cash is the only form of payment.

My wife and I dined at Papa’s for the first time this past weekend. The place is almost the epitome of a hole in the wall restaurant and off the main drag. There were 6 total tables, all set up for that night’s reservations. Service was friendly but would have hoped for a more personal experience given we were the only table there for the first 30 minutes. They were incredibly stingy with the bread. Two tiny pieces and no offer or ask if we wanted more. The star of the show here is the food. Wow, we absolutely loved everything we ate, and cannot wait to go back and try new things. The portions are large, and for how dang good the food is, makes the prices feel 100% worth it. Take cash and call-in advance to get your name on the list. Killer place that I imagine the tourists and transplants wont flock to as its way outta the way, but for those of us who know our way around and don’t mind a country drive, this place is hard to beat.

Original taste of New Orleans right here in the hills of Tennessee!! So very delishous and the staff are all welcoming and friendly. It’s BYOB(wine & alcohol only)with no setup fees. It’s a beautiful ride, too. Reservations well ahead of time are recommended.

This was so WORTH the drive. We went with a group of friends and enjoyed every second of this place. The food was 10/10! Highly recommend for a fun night out! It’s BYOB so pack a cooler of your favorite brews. TIP: if you go with a group of people you will only be able to order off the family style menu!

Excellent place to eat, They do require masks until seated and Reservations because it’s a small place but it’s very clean and PaPa and the Staff are all very friendly and helpful. We got there before they opened and they invited us in early.

Excellent meals. We all shared ours meals with our companions. We all liked them ALL! Our server, Drew, the chef/owner’s son was very friendly and helpful. Helped us make our choices. Added a bit of humor too. Everything is made from scratch. Fresh ingredients. Bold flavors. Big portions. The creole is spicy so be aware. Not overly spicy for my taste though. So happy that this place was as good as recommended. 4 of us shared fried crawfish tails and fried Boudin Balls. Dinner ordered: Grilled Redfish, Fried Redfish, Red Beans and rice, and Cajun Creole. We ordered Beignets for dessert. Wow, everything was absolutely fabulous but out of everything the Fried Redfish was to die for. Call for seating and bring your own wine and beer.

Funky, fun atmosphere. Kristin is a fabulous server. I ordered crawfish and shrimp etouffe – EXQUISITE!! The portion is huge; I have meals to come! Be sure to reserve your table and bring cash and your favorite adult beverage (s). Wear your comfy clothes because your tummy is going to get really full!
