I made a reservation for my birthday (and I let them know during the reservation and confirmation about my birthday) because some friends recommended this place. They made this recommendation based on the previous German owner. When we arrived, we discovered that it was under new owners. The atmosphere is cold and not welcoming. We were a party of 8 people, and the waiter was not even checking on us. We had to call him several times. The place was practically empty, and there was us and another couple. When our appetizers arrived, the waiter hurried us to order the food. We ordered our food, and it took forever for the food to come, so we ordered a second tray of appetizers. When the food arrived, all steaks were undercooked. We requested the steaks to be medium, and they came super raw, and the potatoes were undercooked. They were like rocks, but they did nothing about them. We were starving, and we all started to eat it even though it was not cooked except for my husband. He complained, and the waiter took the steak from my husband’s plate to re-cook it. A steak that was already opened and won’t cook evenly and properly. When we finished, the lights were on, and they were trying to rush us to finish and leave. They brought the $900.00 bill without a courtesy discount for all the problems we went through, and the lady that made the reservations told me that because it was my birthday, it would be unique, and they would give me something. Well, nothing happened, only that they were cleaning with all the lights on, rushing us and making us feel extremely uncomfortable and upset. Before this experience, I had a reservation for some friends (a party of 10), and I canceled the next day. I would never go back or recommend this place ever! Btw, they are not kids-friendly and no menu for kids. I also forgot to mention that we ordered 8 oz steaks (they only have that) and they brought 6 oz. They were confrontational saying that we were wrong because they were 8 oz like we were stupid and never ate steaks before. We went on 06/22/23 at 7 pm.

Our party of five ladies had an early dinner reservation after the show at the Winter Garden Theater. We arrived a few minutes early and the staff took us right to our table. The restaurant is small and very pleasant. We ordered the garlic bread for the table – delicious! Our group was able to have a conversation at the table (which isn’t always possible at restaurants these days). Our server, Nicole, was fantastic! She was attentive and incredibly sweet. We all ordered steaks and everyone ate every mouthwatering bite. The house-made rosemary butter was scrumptious on top of the steaks, too! The baked potato that accompanied the steak was perfect. A few of us had dessert – cheesecake and tiramisu. We ate every bite. The French-pressed coffee after dinner was a hit, too. We all agreed it was a fantastic place for a nice dinner with friends. Five stars!

We had gone for a birthday dinner and the experience was absolutely incredible. From the food, to the wine and atmosphere exceed our expectations. The steak and scallops were by far a 5 star meal. The staff and their service went above and beyond to make our evening memorable. I would highly recommend Matthew’s Steakhouse for any occasion.

The food was incredible! Add the shrimp, its totally worth it. Highly recommend you try the caprese appetizer! Their pesto is a homemade, and made with pumpkin seed. The new owners are phenomenal, and include an incredible wine tasting experience. We will be back again soon!

Worst experience at a steak house I ever had. I feel bad for them. The owners were nice but seem inexperienced. Way over priced. First steak came out well done, 2nd was raw. They told me their chef walked out. They also grill their steak which is lazy. If they were charging Texas road house prices instead of Ruth Chris prices I wouldn’t have mind
