It’s an oasis on the tiny block of D’Hemecourt Street with hearty, delicious dishes and a generous owner. Our party debated whether to try the curry chicken, but in the end none of us ordered it. The owner, Lisa, stopped by our table and brought us a sample to taste. I’ll definitely get it next time. I was very satisfied with the BBQ jerk chicken (pictured below with rice & peas, plantains, and cabbage).

Queen Trini Lisa’s food is amazing! My friend and I split an order of doubles and a vegan plate. I’m so glad to have finally made it to Lisa’s new location and try doubles. The bread for the doubles was absolutely delicious, soft, and freshly made. (Taste wise, it was almost like a mix between chalupa bread and beignets, but way better.) The chickpeas and vegetables had a nice kick, but should not be too much for those who prefer food a bit milder. Also, the sauces for the doubles were yummy and served on the side. It was great to see Lisa when she came outside to greet her guests. Parking spaces were hard to find, but it was definitely worth the walk. We were seated almost immediately and the service and food presentation were on point. Excited to return whenever God wills! Next time I will likely try to sit inside though, because these bugs out here in New Orleans don’t play fair.

A stand out place to eat in a city full of amazing food. We got the doubles, the curry salmon, and the jerk chicken. Everything was honestly amazing and we had a great time. Lisa is so friendly and is a truly amazing host. We will definitely come back

Food was good. Only two people working so don’t be hurried. Relax and enjoy your food. The goat was quite flavorful. Some veggies were too spicy. The cabbage was still crunchy. I like it cooked all the way down.
