Outstanding! My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary and added Syd’s place to our short, 2-day itinerary. This was our second visit, so we knew what to expect. My wife had the perch and I had the fisherman’s platter. Unbelievably, they graciously substituted my cod for perch. Try this at your local seafood (or any other) restaurant. The food was superb, and the service was 6-star. The owner spoke to us for over 30 minutes telling us about the history of Syd’s — proudly boasting that it’s the oldest family-owned restaurant in Erie. He clearly displayed his pride of ownership. You owe it to yourself to check out Syd’s — you won’t be disappointed!

The Best!!!! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. They got us in immediately even though there was a wait list. We were traveling and had no idea how popular the restaurant is. The food was extremely delicious with huge portions. We will definitely be returning there when we visit again.

Tried this place after all the great reviews, they definitely weren’t wrong. I had the crab cakes (the taste of the red pepper mixed in there added so much and complimented the crab perfectly) and my husband had the Fisherman’s Platter, broiled with Cajun seasoning (he loved every bite). The decor was cozy and the staff was friendly. Give this place a try if you’re in town!

The staff is very friendly and professional. Food choices are the best you’ll find. From top of line steak, seafood, veal dishes; to everyday pub style menu. Our server (Chloe?) was very attentive, and 100 percent focused on our parties needs. The wine by the bottle service was excellent. Wines available by the bottle compliment the menu perfectly. Always a great time when eating here. Highly recommend you reserve a table, and see for yourself.

Our party of ten had a wonderful experience! Our server was efficient, friendly, and professional. The manager greeted us and checked on us. Everyone ordered something different and raved about how delicious their food was. We all agreed that we will visit Syd’s Place again.

Food was excellent like always. I had the Lake Erie perch dinner. There were 9 of us celebrating 3 birthdays. We had 9 entrees, 7 different ones 2 appetizers and all were very good. I’m getting old, I forgot our servers name. She was the best server Serafini’s had and been at Syds since. One of the best in Erie. Atmosphere was wonderful, we weren’t rushed at all and had a great evening. She shared in the celebration, we gave her zucchini raisin bread and a cupcake. I love Syds
