I was so disappointed in my trip here. To start off first, when we got sat we asked for two waters. Only one water came out and the cup had LIPSTICK stains on the rim. More than one stain. We were shocked and called the server over immediately and she apologized and took the cup back. We ended up asking for plastic silverware and cups because we did not trust eating with their utensils. Fast forward to our meal coming out and the photo I added is how our veggie omelet came out… completely saturated in whatever the liquid was. This is how we were served. The fruit was almost translucent which means it has gone bad. We sent that back as well. The only thing that came out appropriately was the pancakes that we just both ended up eating together. My order was apple waffles which the menu stated is warm apples on top of 2 waffles. Mine was 2 waffles covered in cold apples and sugar and caramel. I am so disappointed as we’ve been here over 5 times. I won’t be visiting for a while after todays visit. I hope this review will help the staff and cooks going forward. The manager did speak to us and comped us for the meal, he seemed as if he genuinely cared about what happened and apologized along with the great server we had!

My wife brought me to Casa Canela for my birthday, and it was well worth it! The breakfast was well cooked and all of the ingredients used in the food were fresh and tasty. I had the French toast and my wife had the huevos divorciados, both plates were packed with delicious Mexican flavor. I also had their fresh squeezed juice, the carrot, orange and celery juice was so good, I recommend it. It was my birthday that day, they brought me a waffle cake and sang a nice song, I loved it!! The restaurant has a very nice ambiance and decor. They also have a very nice outside patio. Our server Marcela was very nice and attentive. We came from lancaster and would definitely cone back. Thank you Casa Canela!!

I’ve been a number of times now and was never dissapointed. Personally this is one of the best if not the best breakfast place in SCV, hands down. Food is always good (and with large portions- the skillets alone is enough for 2), service is great, and the atmosphere is cozy. Theres an outdoor patio if you wanna enjoy the weather too. Plenty of space for larger parties as well. Don’t think twice, just go!
