OUR STORY
Mom’s Kitchen (formerly Uptown Cafe) has been serving the community of Marshfield, Missouri for years. The newest owner, Cindy Detherow (Mom), has also served the community for years. After working for others, and perfecting her recipes, ownership of the restaurant was the natural next step for Cindy. She’s done a remarkable job since she’s taken over, and the city of Marshfield could not be happier!
Mom’s Kitchen isn’t the closest restaurant to the interstate, but if you’re traveling down I-44, Mom’s is worth driving the extra couple of miles for. Stop by and enjoy some of Mom’s home cooking!

This is a cash-only restaurant. The food is okay – definitely average or above. You won’t leave hungry. The portions are large and filling. The prices are pretty high, but that’s how they are everywhere. Service is quick, and wait staff makes sure your drinks stay filled and they check on you at least once while you’re eating, so pretty standard.

Great small town diner. We ate breakfast and both our meals were very good. I had the half portion of stuffed French toast with cherry topping. My husband had the 8oz ribeye steak breakfast platter. He said is steak was perfectly cooked. Everything was delicious.

The staff is awesome. Food leaves a bit to be desired. Gravy was flat and flavorless without seasoning. Biscuits were not evaluative as it was in gravy. They seemed fair.

Visiting family from NY and saw this place on google. I wanted to try it out and I am glad I did! Friendly service, home like feel and my biscuits and gravy were handmade and delicious! It is cash only so be sure to bring your cash not your card!

The food here is so delicious. The loaded hashbrowns are amazing and their stuffed French toast is out of this world. The place has an old diner feel and I highly recommend stopping by. Great customer service that makes you feel welcome.
