First time here, and we tried the pork belly with Tonkotsu soup base and regular pork with Tonkotsu soup. I thought the soup was a bit salty, but it did taste ok. The pork belly was in a large chunk so the meat part was a bit tough. My 12yr old liked the soup. He cleaned it up

Nice table distancing. Friendly waitstaff (only 1 working). Food was tasty. Be prepared, MSG is used, so dry mouth after lunch.

Came here for lunch on a weekday and they were half full, busier than expected.

We’ve been going to Santa for many years – it is among the best in the Bay Area but most importantly it is consistently good, which is more than I can say for the many other Ramen houses in the San Mateo area. The menu has expanded slightly over the years but the focus has remained on the ramen. The portion is just right and the broth is flavorful and meat tender. I always end up going for the curry ramen every time though the garlic pork and tonkutsu are good as well. Only downside is that the egg is not the ramen egg (I.e. the yolk is not runny and the white is not well seasoned).

Ramen and Chicken Bento were delicious. This place is good for easy eats without the frou frou. At this time however, Santa Ramen has limited menu and may not have enough options for some. They do get busy but try to work fast to serve their customers. Good portion is decent to generous. Price is standard for San Mateo. Definitely worth going back to especially if you find their ramen flavors to your liking.

I had the standard Santa ramen $14 with miso broth, mild spice. The broth had a deep kotteri flavor. You can see the light oil dots at the top of the broth. Sometime miso broth is overly salty, but this broth did not have this problem. The roasted pork was excellent, extremely tender and flavorful. The half egg was hard boiled. I prefer a soft boiled center, but maybe they can’t do that in US. The noodles were on the slightly thicker side with good firm bite. The quantity was standard. One of us ordered kaedama (extra noodles) and it was just a larger amount of noodles, instead of a separate plate of noodles. Overall highly recommended.

Santa Ramen has always been my favorite place to eat for a long time. No matter how many new ramen places opened and this is still the best. The food quality is always great, and the service is good. I am a satisfied customer

Food was alright. They are speedy with getting food out to you which is nice if you’re hungry. Service is not good at all, had to ask multiple times for things we ordered.
