At our Macon, GA location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

I ordered a three piece fish meal with fries, coleslaw, a large drink, and a cheese cake. After ten minutes (a decent time given how busy they were) I received a popcorn shrimp meal. When I placed the order the cashier didn’t read it back to us and didn’t give us our receipt. Someone had to call the manager out of the kitchen (my hat off to any manager willing to work in the worst section of a fast food restaurant) to get everything straightened out. The cashier kept saying that I ordered a popcorn shrimp meal and that he double checked to make sure that’s what was ordered, thankfully I had someone with me to back up the fact that I didn’t order popcorn shrimp. I don’t eat shrimp, I can’t eat shrimp, and I haven’t even touched a shrimp in 32 years. I am thankful that the manager was willing to get everything in order but that was a long bit of annoyance that could have easily been avoided.

The place was dirty and so was the employees. The company should give the employees two aprons a day one to wear in the back while cooking and the other for the front for customers. You can tell alot about someones food by how they keep their kitchen. The fries tasted like they where refried and old and the fish was just okay. It’s not like the older days when fast food cared about the food they were serving. The employees were either on their phone or talking to their friends that where just lounging there. Not one white employee. I won’t go there again.

I am from out of town but I come here often because my 4 yr old have cancer but this is my first time visiting this Captain D’s because I usually go to the one on Pia NoNo and haven’t had no problems but this was a huge regret! The wait time for the drive thru was forever! I ordered a loaded baked potato and there was no bacon on my potato! I also ordered broccoli with cheese and it was old! I know it was old because the cheese was stiff on top so I had to scrap the broccoli from the bottom and my fish taste like it needed to be fried a little longer! I tried calling but no answer!! I should’ve just went to Zaxby’s!

They are too incompetent to have any of their doors unlocked so that you can get inside during the hours that they are open, and while you can see several tables of people sitting inside eating. They are too incompetent to answer their phone. And they are too incompetent to handle the drive-thru line that is wrapped around the building because people can’t get inside of the restaurant. Don’t waste your time going to this dump. Go somewhere where they actually care enough about their customers to operate like an actual business.

We arrived at Captain D’s, Gray Hwy, Macon, Ga right after 8:00 pm with people waiting in line. No one would answer in the drive thru. Closing time was 10:00 pm so after the other cars drove off we went to the drive thru pay window. There was one girl leaning on the counter on her phone. I blew the horn to get her attention, tried saying excuse me and then knocked on the window. When she finally got off her phone she signaled towards me with her finger up to wait. After a few more minutes she come opened the window. I asked when they closed she said 10:00 and asked if I could order and told her about the cars driving off because no one would answer at the drive thru. She said there was only two of them working so they weren’t taking orders. I asked her what time they closed she said now. I told her we had been at the window over 15 minutes. She called the woman from the back and said speak to her I not going to argue with this woman. I asked her who was arguing. I then asked for the GM number and District. They both claimed not to have either. They had no problem fixing themselves sacks of food and gallons of what looked to be tea. If I could give a 0 I would. The last time we went to this Captain D’s the sign outside had inside dining now available but the doors were locked. I also seen customers getting back in their cars and driving off.

Stopped in for a Seafood Family Feast. Did NOT recieve our entire meal. (only the fish and baked potaoes were recieved from the meal ) The wait time was unbelievablely long. I Tried to call this location for this to be fixed and get a recording that states the phone number reached does not have a voicemail set up…?? 2nd time this has happened. We will NOT be back!
