I use to work here so this is just my take on the month I spent with them. The food is fantastic and made fresh daily. They start each morning by cutting most if not all the veggies and protein they will use that day. While it does take a few extra minutes to get a sandwich from here, I highly recommend it. With it being a mom and pop shop, you will always see John the great man at the register and his lovely wife in the back. If you want a good sandwich from good people, this spot should be high on your list

I was underwhelmed. With all the hype for these sandwiches, I wasn’t impressed with the way my sandwich turned out – it tasted like a sandwich I could get from a school cafeteria with basic ingredients. As a sandwich-lover, even for a basic turkey sandwich there are ways to make it taste delicious. I got a turkey sandwich and a pastrami sandwich, and both were not very flavorful or memorable. The pastrami in particular didn’t have the classic pastrami taste that I was looking for.

We don’t get downtown often but, when we do their California sandwich on multigrain with low fat mayonaise and a pickle spear is full of fresh, crispy vegetables. It is ready in no time and we are on our way.

Went here a few weeks ago with two of my kids and we had the best experience. The man behind the register was so patient with my kids and accommodated their requests in such a generous way. They gave us extra cookies as my kids split a sandwich and made our whole lunch experience so positive. We will eat here as much as we can!

Baggby’s is the quintessential restaurant sandwich, with premium ingredients carefully assembled, prepared, and packaged into the best version of the most simple, basic meal item known to society. People are also very nice and accommodating, restaurant is quaint and cute, and the giant cookies are great.

This has to be one of the best places to stop for a sandwich in Charlottesville maybe even Virginia. I always stop by here on my lunch break and I always look forward to stopping by here again immediately after I finish eating. I strongly recommend coming by here for some seriously good food.
