Cinco De Mayo…wow I must say…interesting place to say the least… we paid 25 dollars for a pitcher of Margaritas that literally tasted like apple sauce and had the same consistency as well! I had the Steak Quesadilla and it was far from filling, child sized if anything… my wife had the tacos which only come with the meat on them and we got up charged for lettuce tomatoes for the tacos..

I’m only giving this two stars instead of one because it was excellent salsa. But we only waited long enough to eat our queso because it took 30 minutes for the food to come and the waiter who was actually the bartender never came to check on us and never gave us water that we ordered. We had to ask the hostess to go find him twice. The second time we just walked out and left a few bucks to cover the meal… Maybe. F this place. And the queso was bad.

Don’t know about the negative reviews, but this place is run by real Mexicans. Tortilla Soup has a flavor that you can tell was slow cooked. The chicken was obviously marinated before cooking. The beef was properly seared. Margaritas were original. Mexican rice was authentic… will return. No need to try anywhere else while in Destin.

I came on here just to warn others. Possibly the worst restaurant experience we’ve ever had. We stopped here on purpose because two years ago, we had an excellent meal here. Well, as other reviewers pointed out, they have since changed ownership. Everything is different. We walked in and were the people there. Should have taken that as a sign. I could point out everything that went wrong, but it’s be too long, so let’s just say everything. The chips and salsa were sadly the best part. The waitress is horrible and doesn’t understand ANYTHING. She sounds Russian and she made it the most challenging ordering we’ve ever had. Can we customize or change a combo? “No. Can you make a non-alcoholic margarita for our kid? “No”. Can she have a kiddie cocktail? “No”. Do you have Sprite and cherries? Yes. Ok then you can make a kiddie cocktail. “Oh yes”. But I didn’t even get to the food yet. Ordered a burrito with red sauce and a cheese enchilada. I kid you not, the red sauce was spaghetti sauce. The white sauce on the enchilada was Alfredo sauce. Ridiculous. It was possibly the worst Mexican food we ever had. We got charged extra for our 2 for 1 margaritas. The “manager” also didn’t speak good English and had no customer service skills. This review does not do it justice for how bad it all was. I almost warned the family walking in after us. Do yourself a favor and eat at Pepitos or Crab Island Cantina if you want good Mexican food in Destin area.

It’s way too expensive and food and service are horrible. We asked for the queso flameado and you could actually see the alcohol, the taste was horrible, and the owner said it was normal. The rest of the food had no flavor at all, exept for my wife’s shrimp cocktair, which tasted to lemon with tomatoe salsa.

Horrible horrible! Food was disgusting they are not authentic Mexican tacos we asked for asada tacos and pastor the meat was chewy and flavorless and had cheeses, tomatoes like Taco Bell style and when we told the waiter he said oh you should have ordered “casero tacos” the order said it came with charro beans and we here give retired beans. The mango drink for my son tasted horrible and stale. The waiter did not check on us for refills asked for a plate for my son did not receive it till 15 mins later. Service is horrible! Food is even more horrible and everything is over priced! There’s no way 3 tacos beans and rice should cost over $13 when u can get half the price at peppitos with more flavor! Save your money and go to peppitos!

It was pretty bad. I asked for a big bowl of beans and he game me a small one that I ate in 1 minute. The chicken taco didn’t have anything else but chicken. The chicken nuggets tasted awful and soggy. The waiter didn’t know anything about the restaurant and had to ask about the tamales.

I typically come to a place with low expectations, but this place was a good surprise for me. Granted it had its flaws, but I’ll get into that later. The service was spectacular waiter was there when he needed to be, and was fast and on point. There was a problem with one of my parties’s margarita where it was too weak, but they gave him a new one right away. I ordered the Mexican Mahi blackened with Chipotle sauce, and it was fresh and delicious with a good amount of spice nothing to complain or hate there. We also got the El Diablo shrimp which were exactly the way you sound they would be, but that is a definite plus since they didn’t shy away from giving people a weak spice. The atmosphere is very quaint nothing flashy other than the huge screen they have has a T.V. which is something I really enjoyed being able to not having to snap your neck to just watch the game is a great thing. The music fits the seats and bars are all good fine on the bottom. Overall good experience from all the Mexican restaurants in Destin (which there isn’t much to choose from) this is definitely one of the best in the area. Absolute joy to come here I will come here again next time I stop in Destin, Flordia.

This is by far the worst Mexican restaurant ever. We were a party of six and it was just bad. Service wasn’t that great. My mom ordered chicken fajitas and they were burnt. Would not recommend it. Also this is no Mexican restaurant, it’s a Mexican wannabe restaurant. Like I said it was awful and I would not recommend it.

We live in the area and have been here several times. Yes sometimes they seem understaffed but it has never taken excessively long to get anything, many people are just not used to the laid back beach lifestyle.
