At Johnny’s Barbecue in Louisburg, NC, we specialize in eastern North Carolina barbecue served with country style vegetables. Established in 1999, founded by Johnny and Lydia Gardner, we have made it our priority to serve our customers with quality whole hog barbecue. Since opening, we have been involved in the local community, the boys and girls club, Shriners, and other local charity organizations. Excellent BBQ. Had to travel to Louisburg today for work, randomly saw Johnny’s and decided to give it a shot. I love eastern BBQ but rarely get it since leaving ECU. This rivals anything down there. The place has the perfect look for a BBQ place and a great staff. Would definitely come back.

We love the food, and the services for the most part is great, but ever since it traded hands, it is ALWAYS and I do mean ALWAYS out of food. I mean how do they run out of slaw, or their “Special of the Day” is out 98% of the time before 6 in the afternoon. It’s always something they are out of early.

Carmen is the best! She went above and beyond to help me with my issue. There have been several other times that she has been outstanding! The fish on Friday and Saturday are amazing, and the hushpuppies are outstanding. The barbeque sandwich is very good. They give enough food to eat 2 or 3 meals. I definitely recommend going to Johnnys. The fried chicken is amazing. The pieces are smaller but it’s because the chicken is fresh, local and not pumped with antibiotics and all the other chemicals to bulk it up. You can really taste the difference.

Great -BBQ and sides. Deserts are a little disappointing. Cakes are dry. Banana Pudding is just ok. Go for the meals,skip desert. Service is excellent.
