Shake Shack definitely does have the real deal when it comes to burgers. Very flavorful very juicy. And the fries are hot and crispy. I’ve always loved crinkle cut fries. I would have gave this review five stars but I did because of their being no shakes available. And I’m not sure if it’s because the machine is down or they just can’t make them at that location since it’s just a service area location but other than that the food was great and was made and given to me very fast.

Very busy fast food restaurant. Their burgers are more on the greasy side than other fast food places. Fries are so-so. Got the cheese sauce for the fries, and it tasted like a warmed up cheese whiz. Would I get their burgers and fries again…..I don’t know….probably not. Presentation of the burgers looked good. The shakes are nice.

I’m a huge fan of Shake Shack and love the fact that the service areas along the Thruway have changed and are changing to good food outlets. The sandwiches here are great and service is good. This is not Shake Shack’s issue in this location but they place could use few more tables

First time ever experiencing shake shop. A sign at the register informed everyone that they had no custard products so no shakes at the shake shack! I ordered a cheeseburger and cheese fries but I don’t see any cheese in a cup or on my fries. Burger was okay. I’m sure glad I grabbed ketchup and salt! Employees looked like they hate their job. I have no desire to try Shake Shack again.

Very overpriced for what little you get. We visited at 11am. There is no breakfast menu. We spent $40 for two burgers, fries, a shake and a water. The meat patties were small, the bun did not cover the meat and the lettuce was a single thin partial leaf. I had the shack stack burger. The fried portabella mushroom was greasy and spit hot cheese at me. The “new” NYS Thruway rest stop is a fraction of the old footprint. We had trouble finding a table. You will get a better, cheaper meal if you exit the thruway and give your business to NYS local restaurant.

The new Shake Shack at the Junius Ponds rest stop on the New York State Thruway is a welcome addition to the area. Although the space is a bit narrow, the food more than makes up for it. The Shake Shack burger, crinkle-cut fries, and shakes are all delicious and definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through. There’s also a Starbucks on-site for those looking for a quick coffee fix. Overall, a great option for a tasty and convenient meal while traveling on the Thruway.

This is why Americans are so fat!! I would live here if I could. It was so great I forgot to take picture before devouring. I got the smoke shack burger aka the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had, along with the crispy chicken sandwich, also the best I’ve ever had. Friendly staff and the black and white shake to top it off. Holy **** was this food good.

New NY state thruway rest stops are bright, airy and feature NYC original burger chain Shake Shack. You can also buy NY state sourced products like Saratoga Springs water, Tate’s cookies and Chobani yogurts at the convenience store. Major upgrade over the old, dingy format.
