Pretty disappointed with the food. Way overcooked skewers. Service is pretty average. The place was dirty, saw some bugs crawling on the table. Would not recommend.

Smiling BBQ is my favorite Northeastern barbecue in San Bruno and Daly City. The taste is very authentic and juicy. They provide a wide range of choices including veggies, lamb, beef, chicken, fish, and oysters. Definitely five star recommendation!!

We live in Taiwan so this was a god send after a month in the US. Conveniently across the street from our hotel. Enjoyed the food and learning a few new words in Mandarin different from Taiwanese Mandarin.

This food was so authentic! Loved the BBQ.. had squid, gizzards and tendon. Noodles were delicious. Vegetarian boyfriend loved the eggplant. Will go again!

The service and decor are questionable but the BBQ here is just delicious. The lamb kebabs aren’t too fatty, and so you’re actually eating meat. The squid is also phenomenal.

BBQs were good, rest were okay, but there’s a small metal piece in my noodle soup (I think it’s from those metal sponge thingy for cleaning) so I wasn’t happy about it though I didn’t tell them. The place looks dirty and lighting wasn’t good, not going back. The servers were friendly though.

Had a few skewers, the lamb, squid, beef tendon. Would recommend any of them, they use the same seasoning for all it seems. Their spice mix has whole cumin seeds which I thought were too big, I wish they ground the spices into a fine powder instead.

As much as i like skewers and meat plates, it was hard to actually enjoy the food here. I could tell that every dish was topped with the exact same spices, even the bread! It got old fast, especially when dining with a big group and we had to order at least 6 dishes. Everything just tasted the same towards the end. The restaurant itself was not very clean. The table and seats were sticky and I was afraid to use the utensils without a good wipe down.
