Not many options for the Japanese Steakhouse experience here in Key West. The Benihanna experience is consistent in most locations that I have tried around the country. Both times I’ve been to this location, the food was kinda bland. But the kids really enjoy the “Dinner & Show” experience.

This is an odd review to write. The location is beautiful. We came because of the advertised sushi selections, we don’t love the popular cooking on the table. The only table seating for non table cooking customers was outside. It was warm, so asked to stay in. Only bar seating was available, so we sat. We were promptly greeted and our order taken. This is the odd part. It seemed like the staff uses the bar as their lounge. The hostess and another employee sat near us an chatted away nearly the whole time we were there. There were four or five employees hanging around the bar when they weren’t working. The only time the hostess got up was when someone walked in the door. Honestly, it felt like we were an afterthought, shuffled to the back room, instead of customers at an expensive restaurant. The odd part aside, the sushi was excellent and beautifully prepared. Very tasty. We each had two drinks. $90 before my tip.

A very disappointing quality and portion of the food. The salad was already orange and rotten. Keep in mind this was 40 dollars worth of food. The food was incredibly salty. Will not recommend.

We are locals and had a great dinner here tonight. Paco, our skilled chef was amazing and quite talented. The steak and salmon were cooked to perfection. Nice job! Kiera was our server and had only been there a week and was quite attentive and had a super great smile. Justine was the senior server and paid close attention to detail for the table too. Sadly, we were seated with a group of five who spent their entire time on their phones and were quite rude. Their loss!
