Saw that this has great reviews and I was so craving Mexican food. The decor of the restaurant is nicely done. It was very colorful. The wait staff seemed like they were in a hurry and spent as little time with you as possible. I will say that my order (beef chimichunga) came out quickly. The overall taste and view of the food was good. However, the beef was odd looking…it kinda didn’t look quite right. I would order chicken if I ever go back, which I hope I did.

Excellent food & service!! Trying to find an authentic Mexican food restaurant in KS has proved to be a daunting task! We came upon El Dos and we fell in love with this place and will go almost 100 miles one way from our home to have a meal here from now on! I ordered the fish tacos, covered with foil to keep warm & they came with rice & beans. Hubby had the steak fajitas and he loved them, sizzling hot. Chips & salsa were served of course and their salsa was very tasty, though not hot enough for our likes, but the waitress kindly brought some which was hotter from their kitchen and that hit the spot! Their decor set our meal off, with such bright colors and cleanliness!

Amazing hot salsa! Grande Burrito is very near perfection! It’s a large burrito stuffed with perfectly seasoned tender strips of beef steak. It’s topped with a green salsa which is delicious too. I are it before I thought to take a photo. The restaurant sits right off of I-70 at the Hays exit #159. It’s just in kind of a strip mall looking building. Inside though, this place has a nice authentic feeling environment and great service. They close at 9pm and I arrived at 8pm. But the hostess greeted me and was very pleasant and helpful with menu item selection. When she brought chips and salsa, I asked if that was a mild salsa. She brought me a red spicier salsa that knocked my socks off. I like hot spicy salsa and this was like no other. Great place!

Driving through Hays on our way home to Colorado and needed a sit-down meal outside the car. El Dos was a pleasant surprise right off I-70. Service was friendly and efficient, we got our food quickly, and everything was fresh and delicious. The $3.99 Grand Marnier Margarita was very good, too! (The driver did not get to try it, of course). Highly recommend and would definitely stop there again.

Great service and delicious food! My food came out really fast and the staff was very attentive. They have several vegetarian options and the veggie fajitas are a great vegan option (just order without cheese). Tesla Superchargers are located nearby on the other side of Vine street. I would stop here again for sure.
