Sophie’s Kitchen has been on my list for years, and we finally stopped in recently when a friend was visiting from out of town and wanted to try the Cambodian food scene in Philly. While the menu was a bit difficult to navigate due to our lack of familiarity with Cambodian cuisine, our server was super kind and patient as he explained each dish and what to expect in terms of flavor profiles. In the end, we ordered several appetizers and entrees to share between 3 people, which were all incredibly delicious. The portions were moderate in size and not overly large, so we managed to finish everything on the table. This is a great spot for anyone looking to try something a little different or wanting to impress out-of-towners with some bold flavors.

Excellent! You can find street parking or there is a lot next door. Outdoor seating is available and main dining room is on the second floor. Service was friendly, not very polished but still good, we never wanted for anything. Food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen but everything seemed to be prepared ala minute so it didn’t bother us in the least. I thought the flavors resembled Thai a bit. We ordered a bunch of dishes (see pics) and each and everyone was cooked to perfection and flavorful. I wish the skewer was white meat chicken breast but that’s just me. I’ve already been back and will be going again soon! The owner had stopped by each time I dined here and has a wonderful attitude and truly cares that his customers are satisfied, I was extremely impressed, especially that he remembered speaking with me 10 weeks prior!

The food was really tasty. We had the beef skewers A1 and stuffed chicken wings A8. The wings were different and good, but the beef skewers were perfect. The stuffed wings was kind of like a sausage. Enjoyed our BYOB pinot grigio with my T8 fried fresh fish and N2 was really good. We also wanted to bring some calamari home to our 9 year old and he ate it up. The nice thing is that our server had the to go already for us along with the check. Did not even have to ask because the server listened to her customer. Nicely done.

Wow, I dined here for the first time tonight and was not disappointed. Every dish had so much flavor and tasted fresh. I tried the calamari, beef skewers, pin noodles, chicken sour soup, and the E1 chicken entree. I have nothing negative to say about any of it! Absolutely delicious. I also had the Cafe Du Monde and oh my goodness is it addicting. I will definitely be back again and highly recommend for an authentic Cambodian food experience.

We were visiting from Chicago, which unfortunately has no Cambodian restaurants. We were very lucky to find this place near where we were staying.

Flavors here are wonderful and unique. Found my entree to be very oily and very loud inside.
