Stopped here as soon as we landed in Charleston and this was a good choice. This place is less than 3 miles from the airport. The service was great! The ladies behind the counter did a good job in getting our orders. Nice presentation of the food and so many veggies to choose from. I had the fried fish with greens, cabbage, and Yams and I enjoyed it. I was expecting catfish since I’m from Arkansas but was pleasantly surprised with Cod fish. The fish was seasoned just right and was fresh.

We were in town from Charlotte for our wedding weekend and knew that trying various soul food/good home cooking type restaurants was part of the plan. The greeting when we walked in the restaurant was like being in Grandma kitchen, warm and welcoming. Great meat and veggie options on the bar and offered as cook to order. My family had meat loaf, smothered pork chops, crab cakes and Gullah Rice; cabbage, greens, mashed potatoes, and it was ALL DELICIOUS! Scott was amazing. He made excellent recommendations and checked in with us to ensure that we had what we needed and were enjoying our culinary experience. It was so great that just the two of us (the kids lefts a day earlier) went back the day that we left town to get more food to go, so we had a wonderful dinner that evening when we got back home. I highly recommend My 3 Sons and whenever we return to Charleston in the future, we will definitely be back.

I’m a lifelong Charleston local, and this is a place I sincerely hope stays a part of the city forever. I dined in, and Mrs. G made me a great plate of the dark meat fried chicken and red rice. The collards were seasoned perfectly, not bitter like so many other places seem to make them. The cornbread was sweet, but not too much so, done just right. The atmosphere of just a peaceful, nice little family restaurant was exactly what I was looking for on my lunch break. I tasted the hard work that went into the food. It was very familiar somehow, like eating somewhere I’d been a hundred times even though this was my first visit. Just go here, you’ll find something delicious made with care. I’ll be back for lunch very soon to try that seafood rice!

We went here for lunch last week and I ordered the fried chicken with 3 sides: Mac & cheese, red rice and green bean and a sweet tea to drink. The food was very delicious. The fried chicken tasted just like my grandma use to make. The Mac & cheese was seasoned and was very cheesy and moist and delicious in each and every bite. My friend ordered the chick & waffles. We was speechless it was amazing. The food came out nice and hot! We was not disappointed. In fact we went back the following week and everything was amazing. This place is definitely one of Charleston’s hidden gems. Don’t let the outside appearance fool you. You got to go in and try the amazing southern food like your grandma use to make.

This is a hidden gem in North Charleston near the airport. It has excellent soul food in a casual setting. My sister in law and wife said the she-crab soup was the best they had ever had. I tried the smothered pork chop with red bean rice and collard greens and was not disappointed. The pork was very tender, and the rice and collard greens were exceptional. The ladies were a delight to chat with while ordering. Highly recommend My Three Sons!

You get a down-home feeling when you walk into the restaurant. The staff was so friendly and attentive to our needs. The southern soul food was very good to our souls when we come back to the area. We will revisit this location.

Do you like she crab soup? I had it at several places on my trip to Charleston and this was- hands down- the best! Good food all around, and if your looking for authentic, this is the place. Really nice people and we had a great time. It is worth the side trip for they are a bit off the regular tourist’s path.
