We had a not so pleasant experience at another restaurant, leading us to leave and venture off to find someplace else to eat. We did not travel far before stumbling into this amazing Mexican restaurant. Plenty of room, fair amount of parking. Best part though, I had the best shrimp & beef burrito I have ever had.

The food is really great but there’s a short girl at the drive through window who messes up our order every single time and is rude about it. We ask for ground beef tacos and she rings up shredded beef then gets mad when that’s not what we asked for and then told us at the window to ask for beef correctly. Previously we ordered animal asada fries (#39) and she brings out ramen and insists that we ordered #34 and again, was super rude about it. We paid for a second meal we didn’t need. The taller woman who usually works the drive through is super nice and never has issues with our orders but because of the experiences we have with this one person there, we likely won’t be back.

There’s not many good Mexican restaurants in the Prescott, AZ area. However, El Gordo is as good as it gets around here. We always like their food and the staff is always friendly. Food prices are reasonable, and there’s chips w/salsa while waiting. I recommend this place. If you haven’t been, stop by and give it a try.

I love the food at El Gordo! It’s closest, in the Prescott area, to the food I grew up on in Southern Arizona. The people are friendly, it’s clean and the prices are reasonable. I especially like Taco Tuesday! I’m going to work my way through the menu this summer because they offer such a great variety!

This is my new favorite fast food Mexican joint! I always get the regular carnita taco. There is enough meat in there to make 2 tacos! They have a salsa bar so you can get free chips & salsa. At various times I took people there and they loved it! The burritos are HUGE and very tasty according to my friends. I do wish they had a mild red salsa though. I like hot but theirs is very hot!

I have only been through the drive thru a few times before yesterday. Only ordered tacos. The third yi got tacos here I got really sick from the food.

The salsa is too hot, and they provide no pico salsa. The portions large, which is good. I ordered a breakfast burrito and wanted beans rather than potatoes, they wanted to charge me $.75 extra, but then did not put the beans in. The server was rude.

Not bad of a place to eat we had Taco salad which was fulfilling and good but wouldn’t recommend the “12 rolled tacos” it should be 12 rolled corn tortillas instead. Very little filling and all corn tortilla.

The place has great food but the cashier had horrible customer service. We ordered al pastor fries, 5 street tacos and 4 regular chicken tacos for my kids. When we got our food we noticed they had made our 4 regular chicken tacos into street tacos. Now if I’m being completely honest I don’t ever complain about mistakes with my food but my girls don’t like anything on their food. So i went ahead and told a worker there that I had asked for regular tacos, the lady understood and apologised, told me she was going to fix it and give me regular tacos. When I went back to sit down I can see and hear the cashier saying that they shouldn’t fix it because it was “our fault”, when I specifically told her I didn’t want any street tacos for my girls. She then comes to our table and tells us she wasn’t gonna fix our order because we asked for everything on the chicken tacos. I told her that’s not right because I specifically said I just wanted regular chicken tacos. She then told me “exactly! regular tacos come with onions, cilantro and guacamole” but with a really bad attitude (She seemed more upset then we were to be completely honest) Now I dont know if that’s true but then again it was our first time. We then let it be and went to try buying 4 more chicken tacos but they had already came out with fixing our food. So my thing is this, why come give us a huge attitude about a mistake you made and say you weren’t gonna fix it and then go and fix it?!?! Great food though.

We’ve been looking for a good Mexican place in town but I think we just found it … their carnitas, carne asada, chicken and fish are exceptionally tasty, and their tacos and burritos are HUGE. One taco is enough for a filling meal for me. It’s not fancy, just a neighborhood taco stand, but the prices are reasonable and the food is much better than the nicer Mexican restaurants around town.
