I’m not sure why so many people complain about this place. I honestly love it. It is some of the best Mexican food in the area hands down. The servers are always friendly and super patient with even the most difficult grumpy/indecisive old people (my grandparents). They serve pretty authentic Mexican food (yes that means no hard tacos) and the camarones Yucatan are delicious every time I go. Plus the margaritas and guacamole from scratch are absolutely delicious. Plus the ambiance and location right on the lake is perfect.

Amazing!!!! First time here. I came with my boyfriend and my newborn. Music was so soothing he slept the entire time. The Taco Pastor with their “hot sauce” was SPECTACULAR!! We ordered the Tropical Coloda and were expecting glasses…. but were handed massive frozen pineapples filled and decorated. Amazing service, amazing food. 10 stars!!!

We have visited this restaurant because it is very close to our home. We have finally made up our mind to travel farther to find a better Mexican restaurant. Each time we visit we come away very dissatisfied. To begin with, there is an upstairs and a downstairs to this restaurant so it never looks crowded, but in reality it is, with very long wait times to be both seated and served. One time our food came very salted and we had to send it back. Several times our food came cold. Alcoholic drinks are the same price as a high end restaurant.

It’s a great destination if you are out on the lake and need a break. The food is typical Mexican for Virginia and the service adequate. The margaritas are very good. On weekends in the Summer be prepared to wait to be seated. The lines can be long.

We stopped here when we were boating, plenty of dock space. The atmosphere is beautiful. The staff is very friendly and fun. The food was fresh and delicious! They did forget one of our items but fixed it when we noticed it. It was our first visit to SML, but we will definitely visit this restaurant again.

The worse service ever!! 3 hour wait. Labor Day weekend, we would have thought they would have had plenty of help. It took one hour of waiting for a table and 2 hours of waiting on everything else. Very rude hostess! Management was awful, we don’t even think we even saw a manager. They had a line out the door and nobody was cleaning tables there was like 9 empty tables with trash on them and all over the floor. They definitely were not prepared for the holiday weekend!! We definitely will not be returning! They need better management!!

I never usually rate places or leave comments but for the first time I’m giving feedback. We came on a Tuesday it was extremely slow, yet the service as it has been in the past here was so very slow. The dish i ordered was missing a few ingredients. When i told our server he didn’t seem to care or try to fix the issue. It almost felt like every time our table asked for anything it was a burden. My friends dish came out 10 minutes later than any other person at the tables did. The dish I ordered I ended up boxing up and taking home because it wasn’t very good due to the substantial amount of grease dripping from th meat off the plate. Overall it was far overpriced for our experience. I do mean very very very overpriced for the food quality and slow service.

This Mexican restaurant out classes all others in our area. The cheese sauce is thick, not watered down,made with Land o’Lakes cheese. The margaritas are wonderful! The food is great… a little more pricey, but not unreasonable. The salsa always tastes the same… they don’t go overboard on the heat or the cilantro. The service is excellent and the noise level doesn’t leave you deaf. Best of all, the music is modern Hispanic, not Polka Mexican. It’s just a great place and I recommend everyone check it out. Ask my husband, I’m not an easy sell.

Always a great meal! Food is fantastic:). Gorgeous lake view, friendly staff. We come here weekly because of the food, atmosphere and staff. After lunch or dinner, you can shop around or sit back and people watch. You won’t be disappointed.
