One of my favorite Italian spots in the bay area. You can’t go wrong with any of the appetizers. We usually get scallops, scampi, and clams. Their pastas are cooked perfectly and you have a great selection of rich sauces. The vegetables are bright without being overpowering and there’s a large selection of wines and mixed drinks to go with your meal. Free bread is both delicious and filling, so we usually don’t have enough space left for dessert. All the staff is really friendly and you can choose from indoor or outdoor seating.

The service is so so. You have to ask multiple times to get what you need. Taste is great but the amount of meat in pasta is small. The wait time could be very long. We waited for more than 40min even though it is close to 9pm. I found a hair in my pasta. Yuk. No apology was given. I do not want to wait another 40min to get a new plate.

We arrived early for our reservation for 12 at 6pm and seated right away on the back patio. We ordered starters and drinks and our dinner order was taken by 6:30pm BUT we waited over 90mins for our food. In fact, all plates we not delivered to the table until closer to 8:30pm. Servers told us the kitchen was busy … all while we sat and watched tables that arrived after us, eat and leave while we still waited. Staff never offered any explanations and seemed disinterested when we complained about the wait time. There was no offer of “complimentary” anything for the inexcusable long wait time and no visit to the table by management to explain or apologize. A very disappointing experience for a birthday celebration on what was our first visit to Vino Santo, Redwood City.

Look at that chocolate martini! So good to finish dinner on the patio on a warm spring evening. Sole with lemon and capers was an excellent light supper. We had three attentive staff take our order, check on our progress and tempt us with dessert. Creme brulee.

What a great find in downtown Redwood City! The linguine with clams was out of this world. Our server was helpful with recommendations, attentive and friendly. Great place for a business lunch. Definitely want to come back for dinner another time!
