Service and food were excellent! We ordered the crab roll appetizer, salmon cheese steak, and warm lobster roll. The lobster roll was technically a special and not on the menu, but it was our favorite! It was cinco de mayo and the margaritas were really good. Great music vibes as well. We chatted with the owner who used to run a lobster truck. Definitely check this spot out!

Wanted to try the place because it was new and black owned. When we walked in the restaurant was not super tidy as if their was only 1 person working. we had wait a hour for our food and was told they ran out of food at 7 pm that’s why the wait was long. A side from that, the buffalo shrimp were ok no complaints about that but, the lobster mac was very disappointing.. it had alot of oil, was not tasty and only a few bits of lobster. Idk if it’s because we ordered togo but the food was not good. I will try one more time but this visit was not worth the walk from the car

Let me start by saying it was great to see a young black man doing positive things in the community. The atmosphere is nice and the bartender is excellent. They make you feel at home now about the food. Everything is delicious the rice and the fish and shrimp. Everything cannot go wrong with anything on the menu. I highly recommend it would love to see one in Southeast.

The food was prepared fresh. We had the snapper fish with jerk rice, lobster & shrimp with creole pasta, fried calamari, seafood egg rolls & natural juices. The food wS flavorful, wonderfully seasoned and melted on the tongue. For all seafood lovers the Shellfish Market is a must visit. The wait is a bit long but understandable. Everything is prepared fresh.

I recently dined at Shellfish Market on Kennedy Street NW in Washington, DC, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This charming restaurant deserves nothing less than a five-star review! The moment I walked through the door, I was greeted by Prince, the owner, who had the biggest smile on his face. Prince’s friendly vibe set the tone for the entire evening, making me feel like I was among friends. Now, let’s talk about the food. OMG! I ordered the buffalo shrimp and the salmon cheese steak, and they were both amazing! They don’t skimp on portion sizes either, there were plenty of leftovers to eat on the car ride home. (trust me; the leftovers won’t make it home) The bartender, Tee, deserves a special shout-out too. She made my drinks right every time! And guess what? The service was on point. My food came out fast. I appreciate that they didn’t keep me waiting because when I’m hungry, I’m hungry! If you’re in the area and looking for a place that serves great food, drinks, and service, don’t miss out on this place. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

We arrived around 3 pm and after placing our order, only one of my party got their food. Red. Snapper over some spicy rice. The second person ordered the exact same thing and at 5:47 she still has not gotten food. I ordered basic, fries and a fish sandwich. Yet to xome.

I stopped by Shellfish Market today to support the new local black owned business. Everything was incredible…. the food, drinks and service! I was indecisive on what to order but the owner helped me and I literally ordered a little bit of everything. I started with the fried oysters and brussel sprouts for appetizers. For my main course, I had the fried snapper with jerk Thai fried rice. Everything was flavorful and the portions were a nice size. For my drinks, I had the pineapple papaya drink and a watermelon passion fruit margarita that was great also. I’ll definitely be back!!!

Bought the whiting sandwich but had it on a sub roll. The pieces were thick but cooked all the way through, nice and crispy on the outside and the sauce was delicious. Ate half for lunch and half for dinner. Good music on the sound system and a friendly owner.

So happy to have this place right in the neighborhood! I had the whiting sandwich on a sub roll and my mom had the fried whole Red Snapper and Jerk Thai Fried Rice. Both were amazing and we’ll definitely be back. Prince is born and raised in DC and happy to support more locally owned businesses in the area.
