Our story starts in a 1999 school bus; we converted that bad boy into our very own food truck. We spent two summers serving our community, and through the support of our customers we opened our first store front location in Scotch Plains in 2019.
At Soul Bowls, we strive to bring together a community of people that take pride in what they eat. We encourage our customers to ask: Where does my food come from? What is my food doing for my body, and why should I eat more of it?
It is equally important to spread kindness and compassion to others; humans and animals alike. This is our reason for being a business that is 100% vegan. All of our ingredients are simply plants; gifts from mother earth.

Soul Bowls is ahead in the fruit bowl game. Prices are comparable to other chains but the quality and attention in their bowls is where it really makes a big difference. Soul Bowls has made me a returning customer, staff is very welcoming and friendly, fruit bowls are very fresh and high quality.

Checked out Soul Bowl today and it did not disappoint! Was definitely worth the 30min drive. The explosion of bold and bright colors open up & tease your taste buds even before you taste it. Fruits are chopped in small cubes making them friendly for all ages. I didn’t think I could finish the large size (this is small) but I think I should have upsized! It was absolutely DELISH and definitely plan to be back. Check them out for a healthy lunch option, outing with friends or family. You can also order ahead for pickup.

I wish I could give Soul Bowls 10 stars!! From the moment you walk in, you feel so welcomed! My favorite is the açaí bowls. The fruit is always fresh and the granola (soulnola) is hands down the best granola I’ve ever had! You can also order online which is very convenient. Overall, great staff, service and healthy food!

First time here after lurking their Instagram for years and WOW! Service is excellent, I was greeted as soon as I walked through the door. The lady with white hair was extremely kind and patient with me as I ordered for the first time. Bowls are around the same price as chain smoothie bowls but much higher quality. It’s been long overdue that I’m writing this, but please bear with me as it crucial you read this in its entirety. Ever since I discovered Soul Bowls nearly 2 years ago, I’ve never found a business that has captivated my attention quite like this one. When you stumble upon a 100% vegan business that delivers such an exceptional level of quality, consistency, and undeniable customer oriented focus it makes you wonder why you haven’t discovered them sooner. Customer service is one of the most mentally demanding aspects of business, and Soul Bowls handles this with true expertise. From the moment I started visiting this business, I’ve watched them continue to grow and deliver the most appetizing meals that I’ve ever come across. Endless combinations to choose from on the menu, seasonal specialties along with a variety of grab n’ go’s, and even Soul Bowls merchandise on site to browse and purchase! It truly didn’t come as a surprise once they opened up their second location in Metuchen as this business curates so much well deserved attention that it is crucial that they expand. More people deserve Soul Bowls. It’s impossible to walk into this establishment and leave without a smile, I am so grateful to have such a wonderful place to visit. Started from a food truck, Michelene & Alicia kicked this business into overdrive so quickly that they threw on the brakes and had to open up a brick & mortar location. Tucked away in Scotch Plains, I guarantee you once you visit you’ll be blown away. Before you blink twice, you’ll find yourself back inside ordering a second round as your eyes start to wander through the remainder of the menu. Take it as a pro tip, if you have trouble deciding pick a pre-built bowl, can’t go wrong with the “Elvis”. However, once you’re ready for the big league you’ll need to “build your own” and add as many toppings as you can pronounce off the menu. Throw in a smoothie, or treat yourself to a fresh juice. And while you’re at it, pick a few options from the “grab n’ go” fridge so you can snack before you get home to devour your bowl. This business features indoor & outdoor seating, bathroom on site, and a beautifully curated interior layout & design. I’m going to attach a compilation of bowls, keep your drooling to a minimum and get your butt over to one of the best 100% vegan businesses you will find in the local area. Pictured also is my most recent favorite the “Drunk’n Punkin” bowl with a Detox juice on the side. I want to start out by saying I REALLY enjoy the food here – I usually get a make your own bowl and everything is so fresh. Last time I went I also got a juice and it may have been one of the most delicious juices I have ever drank! I was really disappointed in the service, however. When I ordered, I was given a time frame of 20-25 minutes. I could tell that they had a lot of orders both in person and online in the queue and the bowls are totally worth that wait. About 40 minutes went by and when I took a look around I realized that people who ordered well after me had already received their orders. The nice woman at the counter asked me for my name again, and after 50 minutes I got my 2 item order. I know they work hard and I am sure I just caught them on an off day, but had I known I was going to have to wait double the time promised, I would not have placed my order at that time (I only get an hour for lunch and was late to my meetings).
