Frankie’s pizza has been a staple in Ashland for more than 60 years, and having finally made it in for a visit over Easter weekend, I can see why.

The pizza was awesome! Pizza fries were delicious. Waitstaff was friendly, but not frequently in the room

Came up from Chippewa county to get out of the heat. Also was here four weeks ago. The GF veggie pizza was great. Had it before and made sure to get it again. A different waitress this time. She let you sit a long time before waiting on you. Could see her standing around in the kitchen. She served you then never came back. She never looked out into the dining room so I could get her attention. Only when she waited on a young man who had been sitting for a long time was I able to get her attention so I could pay. The waitress we had four weeks ago was great and handled a crowd by herself. I realize the waitress last night was young and maybe not skilled yet. She needs to work on attentiveness.

Friendly service in an old school pizza house, looks like they’ve been here for awhile. The Pizza was a solid thin (not cracker crust thin) crust with good quality toppings and a nice sauce. Just wish that the Italian sausage would have had a little more fennel in it and it would have been perfect.

The food was good, service not so much. We waited a long time before we were even acknowledged. Our waitress took our drink order, it took her about 10 mins to bring our drinks and take our order, when we got our order it was wrong but we didn’t notice until our waitress walked away. We tried to flag her down a couple of times with no luck. I get they are busy, but it only takes a second to ask how everything was. Even though our order was wrong, it was still good. It just might have been an off day for them, so I’m willing to give it another try.

The service was spectacular, the atmosphere was amazing and our waiter was absolutely fantastic, she was so kind and fun with my little brother while maintaining a professional distance. The food was awesome. Congratulations to the Frankie’s Pizza staff, you guys are amazing.

All other tables had been served and the table that sat down the same time we did, ate and was gone for 20 minutes before we even got our appetizer. We waited for an hour and 20 minutes and no pizza. When leaving the manager on duty took over ten minutes to come out and talk as the waitress said a manager needed to speak with us. Instead of apologizing he handed us a bill, had the excuse that all other tables had called in food (disagree with this as we called for 15 minutes prior to entering establishment, even tried to reserve a table on line- would not accept) and walked away! He came out with bill versus trying to get us to stay. Do NOT recommend eating at this place, unless you have hour and half of your day to waste.

When we got there it wasn’t too busy. As the night went on it got busier. We felt bad for the waitress as she was the only one. Every time she came around seeing if we needed anything she was apologizing. Then went into the kitchen in a hurry to check on orders or to get drinks. The pizza was hot and had good flavor.

I had the choice of Frankie’s or The Pizza Pub in Ashland. We chose this place because I had a work meeting here once and remember the authentic “Italian food being cooked aroma” during the day. We ordered take out pizza after a baseball game and thoroughly enjoyed it on our ride home. Some of the team tried pizza out and weren’t as pleased. So next time through Ashland I’m going to try them and I’ll see which I like more. I can tell you that the crust is from an actual dough (not a frozen crust ) great sauce and not too much, ample toppings, and the perfect amount of cheese.

Sorry guys, didn’t like it. I’m a “pizza guy” not a pizza snob. I always say, “there is no bad pizza.” I like frozen one dollar pizzas, I like NY and Chicago style, Hawaiian, veggie, cheese. I’ve had it with corn, mayo and tuna in Japan. This was not bad but it was not good. Cheese was cheap, the mozzarella was plastic like and in Wisconsin that’s unacceptable! Sauce was blah and the crust was tasteless and crunch-less. Canned mushrooms and huge gross tasting sausages overwhelmed an already underwhelming pizza. The taco pizza had a bag of doritos dumped on it. Needed taco sauce on top, sourcream and jalapeños.
