Our family went through the drive-through. It was our first time visiting Freddy’s. The lady who took our order was so very helpful & patient making changes to our order & accommodating our changes. She was the absolute best! The food was so good, everything was perfect! I wish there was one closer to home, I’d visit on the regular.

My wife and I are travel nurses and had never been to a Freddy’s until recently while on assignment in Lafayette, IN. We cannot say enough great things about this restaurant and it’s management. Evan (the manager) greeted us and thanked us being nurses (we were leaving work from the hosptial). He gave us a generous nurses discount which was completely unexpected and beyond gracious. The restaurant was so clean and well-managed. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. It was refreshing to go to a restaurant that actually had smiling, hard working employees and not a computer kiosk. As I looked around the restaurant at the other patrons and employees, it was a reminder of how things were prior to 2020 – when people actually appeared to enjoy working and talking to each other. We visited the restaurant weekly on our way out of town and look forward to it each week. If corporate should read this review, please know that Evan should be commended for running a great store and epitomizing hard-work and true customer service.

I did not have a wait at the drive through, but wish I had not wasted $7.27 on a double steakburger. It was hot but it was also absolutely soaked in grease. Sandwich was sliding around with the patties hanging out and grease ran down my arm. The patties had no crispy edges and instead, the burgers had a weird lumpy texture and tasted like nothing at all. Entire box was soaked in grease and it even solidified in a layer on the bottom bun. I did not have time to deal with it because of work, but it definitely should’ve been returned for a refund. I threw the remainder in the garbage. People do not have extra money laying around to waste on inedible food. Whoever put that in the box to be served had to know it was not acceptable. They simply didn’t care.

Freddy’s is a lovely-looking place with quite a nice decor. The food is very much like Steak-N-Shake. The big difference is the taste. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. There just wasn’t much flavor to the burger. The onion rings were fairly good. My daughter had the chicken sandwich & fries. Again, not much flavor to the sandwich & the fries were completely flavorless. Prices were pretty much like most fast food places these days.

We needed a stop on the highway through Indiana and we found this with a little googling. It did not disappoint, this is a great American burger joint with some local flavor. They just do things a certain way, and it’s worth checking out. The burgers were juicy and delicious and the fries were “skinny” so they’re extra crispy without much fluffy interior.
