Whenever I visit Middlebury from the Queen City (Burlington), I make a point to stop by Haymaker Buns. First, their savory and sweet buns are both creative and tasty. It is fun to watch the bakers make their buns nearby and eating these wonderful treats with coffee. Breakfast and lunch offer some great choices to eat, and always filling. Second, I am a big fan of supporting a woman-owned business and their excellent team. Finally, the atmosphere is cozy and has great views of the Otter Creek which it is located next to.

Any baked sweet treat is a star in my book. This place is tucked down a side street and has a cool commercial vibe with awesome treats. I loved my banana bread. Partner in fun had a rhubarb bun and gobbled it up. He didn’t share so I cannot comment. We stat outside watching the angry river flow. Such a cool spot and the staff are awesome.

We were excited to try out The Arcadian. The food was great (slightly small portions) but the service left a lot of be desired. We got seated upstairs and maybe it was out of site out of mind but drinks took a solid 20 minutes and appetizers a little longer.

This place is perfect. The staff are wonderful, and the atmosphere is always peaceful and pleasant. Every seat has a lovely view of Otter Creek running by outside. The food is fantastic and the buns are to die for.

Spent 2 days in this adorable town and our final morning decided to have breakfast at Haymaker. Got an assortment of pastries as well as three different kind of drinks. I had an Americano my brother at a drip coffee and my mom had a latte. All we’re absolutely delicious. We had an absolutely fantastic experience as the staff for also very helpful with deciding what to eat. We’ll definitely be coming back and stocking up on pastries. Can’t wait till I can stay around for dinner time. We had this strawberry cinnamon roll style pastry, an almond espresso pastry, a savory herb and cheese pastry as well as their cinnamon sugar donut. Honestly can’t say how delicious everything was! If you’re driving through here, make sure to stop.
