Came here for dinner on a Wednesday. We rant to reserve a table in advance, which they were happy to accommodate.

Saw Kyung’s on a list of essential “off the beaten path” Honolulu restaurants. We’re pretty adventurous eaters and love Korean and sushi, so this seemed up our alley. Without doing too much research, we walked over from Waikiki and started getting nervous that the restaurant would be a tiny hole in the wall or sketch etc. But were pleasantly surprised when we went inside. The staff was super friendly and welcoming.

Got the meat jun and mandoo plate and it was amazing! The meat jun is tender and the mandoo was chubby and meaty! The plate came with rice, kimchi and mac salad — they all tasted delicious. They take cards as payment method. The wait is not long (it was a Wednesday lunch time). There’s indoor seating area with AC and they played korean music.

Years ago, when aunty Kyung first moved to the current location, I used to eat there almost every night. I’m back over now from NZ and was both very excited to eat here again and very saddened to hear of aunties passing .

First time trying here. It’s kind of a hole in the wall place… not too big but cozy. Food was delicious and very friendly staff. I would definitely go again.

Our Uber driver recommended this place as good seafood… Totally worth it! Absolutely AMAZING food. We ordered the sashimi, meat jun and poke. The meat jun was phenomenal! We went on a Wednesday evening and it was pretty busy by 6:30… So call ahead to make a reservation just to be sure you’ll have a table when you get there.

We went for happy hour. $10 pitchers! Meat jun and fried mandu were good but nothing to write home about. The poke, however, was out of this world good. We got the mamas special. the little bit of rock salt goes a long way to make it extra delicious. Its a tiny place and we were happy to sit at a table that was reserved an hour+ later.

I totally forgot about this place since moving away from Hawaii but in my last trip I was picking up food from a place near by and remembered how much I like the poke here. This is definably a hidden gem. They don’t have a huge selection of different poke but they make to order and what is so good is their fish is so fresh. What is also great is every time I’ve stopped in here I have never had to stand in line.

The BEST spot for sashimi, hands-down. Great portions and super fresh fish. They offer trays for any budget, just tell them how much you want to spend and they’ll set it up for you. For dining in, seating is super limited so call ahead to make sure they have a table for you.
