First time visit. Spacious and clean inside. Gentleman greeted me right away. Looked over menu briefly and ordered fried whiting dinner with 2 sides plus choice of bread, hush puppies or corn bread. Got the buttered corn (is off cob) and collards. Paid and he said it would be done in about 10 min. Came back about 15 min later and food was ready. Nice and hot and looks and smells great. Fish cooked perfectly and has a nice and flavorful seasoning on it. Not overly breaded or salted. The corn bread is a round corn muffin. Tasted fresh baked. Was warm and soft. The buttered corn is good…i put a dash of salt on. The collards are nice and simple and taste great. Very impressed overall and will be back for sure.

This little tucked away spot has the best catfish around this area. The hush puppies, also good. They do need a little cosmetic work inside tho. A solid 5 stars.

Stumbled upon this gem. Ordered The catfish platter with mac and greens and the catfish and shrimp for my husband. The food is affordable and was piping hot twenty minutes later. I was thoroughly impressed. You can taste the love in every bite and their tartar sauce complimented the fish very well! Immediately I went to my mom’s home to share such a wonderful meal. Yes, there’s enough to share. I LOVE THE FACT IT IS BLACK-OWNED. THEY ARE VERY POLITE AND THE OWNER CAME OUT AND PERSONALLY THANKED US!

We love Annie Mae’s. The fish is delicious and the side have been really good this past visit. Please do not judge this book by its cover. Support your local black owned establishments. The owners are welcoming and will have your food ready in no time.

Looks can definitely be deceiving… This was the best fried fish I’ve ate in a long time. Enormous portion size for the price. I agree with the other reviewer, prices should increase (in my opinion because of the portion size and quality of food). Fish fried to perfection, corn was crunchy, hush puppies had corn with just the right amount of sweetness and the gravy complimented the mashed patoto well. I can’t belive it took us so long to try this resturant.

Don’t be put off by the appearance. The Pandemic hit them hard and they went from a dine-in restaurant to carry-out only. Seriously good home cooked food! I got the Alyssa’s (seafood combo) platter and it did not disappoint! Fried flounder, shrimp and chicken strips with hush puppies, mac & cheese and collard greens… YES MA’AM!!! I also got a side of black eye peas and those were equally delicious!!! We will be going back!!!
