I’ve never written a review before, but I felt the need to write one after the meal I had today. Best burger and fries I’ve had in a long time in the metro Detroit area (and I’ve tried all the best spots) The burger just by itself was insane and the French fries took it to another notch. Perfectly crisp and seasoned. And the fact that the buns are made fresh from the local bakery that I just happen to go to monthly for my steaks made me even more satisfied with my meal. I’m sure the milkshakes are great too, I’ve just never had a sweet tooth. Hats off to whomever is running this place. HIGHLY underrated.

The cutest little shake bar! I saw they had gluten free buns they posted a tiktok about and brought my GF sis to dinner here. The chicken caprese sandwhich was incredible and the flavor combinations were EVERYTHING. I also had a banana Nutella shake and it was delicious my sis had a gf bun original burger and a strawberry shake. Cutest place ! Great atmosphere and kind staff will definitely back. My new favorite burger and shake place

It was first time and I will definitely be back. The food was fresh and good. The onion rings are huge! They have shakes, malts, and floats. The owner came out and greeted us and told us the history of the restaurant which has been open 70 years!

Place reminds me of an ice cream parlor that serves burgers, too. 2 burgers & one order of onion rings was $42.00. My companion MAY of had a pop I can’t recall. Either way imo those were some steep prices for non exceptional burgers. Taking the area into consideration explains why the higher prices. Service was good. Would I go again? nah there’s too many other places to discover, and I wasn’t too impressed, to be honest.

So we ended up here by accident and it was a wonderful accident indeed as our original choice was closed. The service was pleasant and worth the little wait we had. Our server checked on us several times to make sure we had everything. The food was outstanding. My husband truly enjoyed the “Brown Cow” shake. My banana shake was so fresh tasting and creamy. The burgers were juicy and well flavored. The onion rings definitely held up and I loved that the onion stayed in the batter after a bite. Will definitely be back and bring our kiddo as they have dairy free shake options as well.

We went to Red Knapp’s for my father’s birthday. There were 13 of us. We came in for milkshakes. The staff was so friendly and we were served quickly. They even brought my dad a milkshake with a candle in it. My dad worked at Red Knapps for his very first job when he was a kid. Now he’s 71! Thanks for a great experience.

This place is amazing! I try coming in at least once a month even though it is a bit of a drive. The food is absolutely delicious and do not get me started on their milkshakes. It might be a little wait for your food, but it is always worth it. If you are looking for that classic burger and fries, feel this is the restaurant for you.

Red Knapp’s transcends time-a little treasure shared generation after generation! I have memories of dining here with my parents as a child and now my kids enjoy dining with their grandparents. It is a happy, little diner that always brings a smile to my face and still makes THE BEST milkshakes! My mom and I always split a burger and fries but the rule was you got your own milkshake! LOL….they are that good! If you haven’t tried Red Knapp’s and are in the Rochester area, it is a MUST!
