This place popped in google maps and I wanted to try. The portion was awesome, it was two huge fried pork chops in the plate which was cool. The Mac and cheese wasn’t my favorite but I enjoyed the rice and beans that came with it. The pork chops were really tasty. Idk if I’ll ever be back in reading but I would definitely try something else from this place if I went back.

E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. is good. The collared greens are amazing, the sweet potatoes amazing, the fried chicken and burgers, amazing. The people are nice and funny. This place has one of the best burgers I have had in my entire life. The fried chicken could honestly outrank any other fried chicken. It-s an Easy 5/5.

I started eating at Beckett’s many years ago when I patrolled the area. I’ve been retired almost 20 years and I still eat at Beckett’s. Jon and Kevin fry things up perfectly. Their Ribs and Chicken are top notch. Call ahead to order. When you pick it up you are guaranteed your meal will be done just right. If you never ate there, you are missing the best food around. I was in the area and due to my son’s high recommendation I made a point to stop in and get some to go. What a treat! Super friendly staff (owner), the chicken had a crispy, delicious crust, & all the sides were great (Mac & cheese, greens & sweet potatoes). Chicken was cooked to order and after an hour ride was still warm and crunchy. 100% with the trip.

Went in with the fiancée after a doctors appointment in the area. Place is pretty run down, they didn’t have a lot of options for food, so we both got the Soul meal, she got chicken and I got pork chops. Honestly, It was some of the best fried food I have ever had…the breading on the pork chops and chicken was out of this world, deserves more than 5 stars honestly. Don’t judge this gem of place by its cover…go in and have one of the best meals you could ever ask for

Beckett’s is a local gem. They serve the best soul food in town hands down. What makes this place top notch is that every order is made-to-order, so be prepared to wait 20-25 min for you fresh meal. The chicken breast is very juicy and tender. The greens are made perfectly, and the Mac and cheese is just out of this world. If you are looking for some fried chicken please don’t go to Popeyes or kfc and support this local establishment, because you will not be disappointed!

Excellent soul food and owner is as great as his food!!! If you haven’t had the fried chicken yet, you HAVE TO! Oh, and the mac-n-cheese! The pic is chicken, mac-n-cheese, collard greens and, of course, corn bread. Ya just can’t get enough, though you probably can’t eat it all, either! Pretty sure it’s take-out only though. It’s in an area that you most likely would think you don’t want to be in, but trust me, it’s worth it. They also participate with GrubHub and I believe delivery is only $.99; another great option if you’re wary.
