Lao Bian Dumplings began during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. The founder, Fu Bian, was born in Renqiu, Hebei Province, and later came to Shenyang to make a living. In 1940, Lin Bian, the third generation successor of the Dumpling family, moved the dumpling house to the north Market in Shenyang at that time. The fifth generation successor is Bian Lin’s grandson, named Borderland, and took over in the 1990s. In addition to major cities in China, Lao Bian dumplings are also available in Japan.

Absolutely loved this place! Cozy atmosphere with delicious food. We had the beef & celery pan fried dumplings, they were cooked great with just the right amount of crunch. We had the Lamb skewers as well, they were so tender & the seasoning was a great compliment to it. The marinated egg was very delicious! They offered us chicken wings as an off menu item (I think something new they are trying) & they were delicious! I haven’t tasted chicken wings like it, but it they were salty in an interesting way that’s hard to describe topped with toasted sesame seeds, cooked perfectly too. Everything we ate was delicious, eating at Mr. Bian Dumpling is definitely an experience rather than just a bite to eat.

Hand made dumplings you can tell, the dumpling wrap is made a little too dry, I saw several are cracking open. The stir fried beef and potato is very savory, better pair with rice or some other main dish.

Awesome handmade dumplings. Im a little skeptical of the xaio long bao, they were just mediocre. But the otheres were absouletely excellent. Chewy dough and quality fillings. Good prices and quick and friendly service. Small and cozy.

I have been wanting to try these for a long time. I finally got the chance for lunch today and was beyond impressed. Fresh, made to order, delicious dumplings! Bian Dumplings, Xiaolong, Pork and Nappa, and their daily special Won Tons in spicy chili oil. These are the best dumplings i have ever had, and I have had a lot. Way better than any of the big chains that i have been to. I cannot wait to go back and will be telling everyone i know to eat there. This small business needs support as it is near to a college campus and with classes online, not many students are going out. I will go out of my way to eat here when i am craving dumplings, which is often. Super high value as well, 6 orders of dumplings for under $40!!!!!! So so so good!

Authentic dumpling like my neighbor used to make. Properly steamed and the contents where not to dry and not to sogy just right for dipping sauces. Don’t believe the reviews on dry dumplings they are just used to under cooked soggy dumplings. I also order the potato eggplant pepper flavor was well ballenced and properly cooked.

Still don’t really understand what sauerkraut fish is but it was amazingly delicious. Perfectly battered, crunchy on the outside, tender batter on the inside, savory spices. Also the bean curd sheets in the mixed vegetable dish were so good, new texture to me and the tangy sauce was so good. Noodles were yummy and fresh, very simple. Wished I could try everything on the menu. Only one woman serving all the tables but very attentive and fast. Sweet humble place.
