Tonights meal was called Pineapple Express & I ordered it non spicy. I didn’t care for the sweetness of the sauce, so next time I will ask for no sauce. The Chicken, Pineapple, grilled Veggies & steamed white Rice was great though. I will try another new dish next time. Originally I wanted to order one of the dishes that has their peanut sauce, but they said both dishes are spicy & I can’t do spicy.

We ordered Luke’s Lava Plate. Chickens were juicy and delicious, but sauce was so sour that it covered all other flavors.

Great food, great vibes, great service. Was hesitant to go as a non meat eater, but their tofu is perfectly marinated and cooked. Owner is aggressively chill, and I saw him go out of his way to make not just our experience the best, but every other customer that came in.

I have been wanting to try Ron Island Grill for a long time and finally went tonight with a few friends. I got the pineapple express, and it was excellent. The portions were very generous, and prices were STILL reasonable. Everyone loved dinner tonight!

Honestly the food tasted amazing, but the reason I rate this place two stars is the portions are way off for the price you pay for them. You get barely any of the main dish and get mostly rice. You get the same amount of main dish in the small as you do the large, you just get a lot more rice. For 10-20$? Absolutely not worth it.

Ordered a Kalua pork meal. Very disappointed with how bland the mac salad was and how dry the rice and pulled pork were.

I ordered the Huli Hulu Chicken (Tsunami or Large). Contrary to reviews from 7 years ago, there were no bugs in the establishment or food. Service was fast, and the food was premade before ordering, but because of that, the chicken was a little dry. I recommend taking advantage of the sauce bar to moisten the chicken back up with the teriyaki sauce that I couldn’t since I was headed home. The server did give me some sauce cups, and those helped with the dryness. The rice seems to be unsalted, and that could be good or bad depending on your preference, and it wasn’t mushy or hard. I came here looking for an alternative to hawaiian time, and I liked it very much. The flavor is mellower than HT, which makes it less heartburn inducing, and the price is better. A large huli with extra chicken at HT coming to around 16$ compared to the $13.95 for the Tsunami size.

The food was terrible. I got the beef and vegetables, and the beef was so overcooked that it was like eating shoe leather. The veggies were also really mushy. I gave it two stars because the staff is nice, but I won’t be eating there again.

This place isn’t what it used to be. Noodles were dry and meat overcooked the last few visits. Mac salad is swimming in mayo. The regular plate used to be the same size as large is now. Too expensive for what’s offered. I’ve been going to Ron’s over a decade and year after year the love and passion displayed in their food has sadly diminished.

Food is good, but overpriced for the service I received today for me and my little sister. They have no problem taking my money, yet have a problem getting what I paid for right. The girl says “well that’s how I interpreted it”when she gave me the wrong items. Then, I asked for extra sauce and said I would pay for it, she gave me ONE of EACH for two Tsunami meals. Very smug. $42 later.
