If you want cafeteria-style, divey, saucy Afghani or Indian food, this is the spot! Large portions, big flavor and spice level for budget-friendly prices. Butter chicken was 10/10 – lots of meat, reasonable spice level, plenty of sauce. Can’t find a better deal for naan in Lincoln Park. You can see into the kitchen and hear the clank of the pots, so it’s not going to be an overly quiet or poised spot, but it’s incredible value for food. Wouldn’t recommend the veggie curry – vegetables came from a frozen pack of mixed veggies and were soggy – but would recommend the meat dishes. “Side of rice” was a HUGE plate that could’ve fed 3 people.

I’ve had ghareeb nawaz before at the north location, years ago, and was hankering so badly for a nearer location. Having it again now I can reaffirm that this is absolutely the best Indian food in chicago, and only very minorly because of the price. The price is INCREdible, ($4.99 for a plate of biryani as big as your head), but aside from that, you can tell there’s a lot of love and care put in this food. It’s spicy, flavorful, saucy, and filling. Highly recommend the lunch specials. 100% go here if you’re looking for a casual Indian spot.

The place is dirty. The staff are slow or high- not sure which. But the food is cheap and outstanding. So, pick your poison.

Major portions, great prices. Give this place a try; you won’t go hungry. The naan is fresh and garlicky but not vampire killing garlicky. If you’re eating in, bring your own fork, the plastic ones don’t do the food justice.

The wait time was twice as long as they initially relayed when ordering (this was on a weeknight). Food and serving portion is solid for the price. For a lower cost, quick option: there are cheaper, better service options available in the area.

Please explain how this (pictured below) is beef biryani? Essentially its beef from a different dish (bland not even salted) mixed into plain rice. I had even called before ordering to check if they had beef biryani which rhey confirmed they did. Butter chicken is good.

I was ready to not like this place. I don’t like the food at the Devon location that much. But I was very pleasantly surprised. The green chili chicken biryani was good and the butter paneer despite being very red was good too. At this price point you can’t beat this quality and quantity. Plus there is no tipping!

The butter chicken fries and the aloo samosa were so good. This place never disappoints. Happy to have a new location closer to home!

I have been to this place many times since the day it opened, and it pains me to write this review, but I hope the owners can see this and make changes that are much needed.

Ordered frontier beef, Lamb curry and paratha. The parata is huge is size. Both meat items were in sealed food box. So the curry didn’t leak. Also the amount was more than what given by other places with a much higher price.
