If you’re looking for delicious, authentic Mexican food in a casual and welcoming atmosphere, look no further than the Tamale House. From the moment you step inside, you’ll be greeted by the mouth-watering aroma of fresh, homemade tamales, savory chile rellenos, and other tantalizing dishes that will make your taste buds dance with delight.

Best Tamales in the Metro Area! Try the BBQ pork, you won’t be disappointed. And the family who owns it are so nice. We accidentally left our leftovers and he ran out to our car to bring them to us.

Tony and his wife were so nice, the food was amazing and really generous portions for the cost. I will definitely be eating this again in the near future.

Very good tamales and Very LARGE Burritos… Chips and cheese was just that.. “Chips& Cheese”,. Chips seemed a little stale.. But the flavors of everything we had compensated for the chips… Small place #5 tables… You cream eat in, Or take out.

I was so looking forward to trying their tamale. They’re one of my favorite foods! I was very disappointed when I arrived at 11:30 AM, walked in the door, and was told that they were not open and didn’t know what time they would be open. The posted opening time was 10: 00 AM. I was not the only one. Two gentlemen walked in right behind me. They didn’t have tamale for lunch either. I left and decided to go across the street to Sanchez’s Taqueria (which had a packed parking lot and I would highly recommend). I guess they had the same thought because they walked into Sanchez’s shortly after I did.

These tamales are so insanely good. I will find every person who complains about the chips or service and fight them. A bbq pork, cheesy jalapeño, and sweet corn tamale, in that order, is the perfect three course meal.

Tamale House has gotten to be one of my favorite Portland area restaraunts. The masa in the tamales is unlike any I have ever had, it’s so delicious (on par with the amazing meat inside). The portions are huge. I just got a 2 tamale plate and it’s easily 2 meals for me, and I’m a big eater. The staff are always very friendly and nice too. I really couldn’t ask for a better restaraunt experience. Make sure to get a cheese jalapeno tamale, they’re my favorite!

I wish I could leave a five star. And I actually could if we’re going just on the food. They are absolutely amazing and delicious the best tamales in Portland hands-down. But every time I’ve ever gone in and meet the owner (the husband) He is not very nice. He has an underlining attitude and tone of sarcasm that’s not funny. I went in today and I accidentally said enchiladas instead of tamales but he corrected me very quickly and we got past it. Came home and one of the plates did not have the correct tamales on it. My husband called Into let him know we spent a good chunk of money on two meals and one of the plates was incorrect.he is not very nice. He was extremely rude about it and mentioned how I didn’t even know what I was talking about in the first place. I love the tamale House and their food is amazing but the customer service definitely needs a little help

Delicious tamales. We ordered 2 dozen for Xmas, but I had to eat some ahead of schedule. The cheese and jalapeno, pork and chicken were all delicious. The tamales are a lot larger than I’m used to, but I enjoy them. Their masa is so tasty. Personally, I’ve always found the staff to be friendly.
