I was really excited to try this place after seeing all these videos on social media. The place ended up being ok. Service was fine, the food was decent and the atmosphere wasn’t bad. The prices were outrageous for the food quality though. I had looked at the menu before hand and expected more flavorful food. However, at the end of the experience I was left wanting more for what we paid. I think you’re more so paying for the hype than the food. There are way better southern food restaurants in the city for way cheaper. Skip this one and save your money for a better experience.

Ambiance is lovely. Took my coworker after hearing great things, and maybe partially part of IG hype. I will say they do add the 20% tip on your bill as many say, even for lunch. The downfall was I didn’t find many options that fit my dietary needs. So if you’re on a diet or clean eating this isn’t the place to you. Even the salads I found the added something to throw off the salad. Everything had something outside the box which is great for some, but not those just looking for high quality food. I can understand their pricing because of those “additions” to their items.

As a native Charlestonian, I had high hopes for this “southern inspired” restaurant, however, the soul food classics ended up being a bit disappointing. For starters, save yourself some money and do not order a cocktail. They are small, overpriced, and watered down. Wine might be your best bet as far as bang for you buck. Overall, the food was just okay and myself and everyone I dined with found themselves saying that they could make better at home. The biscuits came out hard and dry, the Mac and cheese reminded me of velveeta, the grits in the shrimp and grits came in “cake form” and were firm unlike classic creamy or “loose grits” and the dish had very little flavor. We did enjoy the deviled eggs and the fried chicken. The highlight of our visit was the ambience and the customer service which was warm, inviting, and hospitable.

Listen, let’s be honest, chicken is bland & boring and making chicken taste good is difficult. The food really was very good, the kitchen did a great job. The decor is fantastic, and the ambiance is great even if somewhat loud – it’s so busy In the restaurant it can be hard to hear someone across the table from you.

Visited Yard Bird today. Firstly, the entire restaurant is beautiful. We had an amazing waitress named Jennifer, she was welcoming, gave lots of recommendations. The food was average. The salad and the deviled eggs, were the were the best of our three dish options.

Well they didn’t have a huge selection of food to choose from. The drinks were fabulous our server was awesome. The dessert was delicious The Burbon Chocolate Cake was soooooo good but it comes with bacon I didn’t want that on mine and it’s a huge piece of cake.

Another place I should’ve BEEN visited – YARDBIRD! I thoroughly enjoyed everything I had from them. My favorites were the deviled eggs and Strawberry Peach Cobbler!!!! Everything is crafted and built so well that you almost don’t want to eat it! The cobbler was super cool because you got to crack open the shell with a mini wooden mallet to get to the inside.

The place is pretty but the food was not very good. Chicken was bland and on the drier side. The shrimp in the shrimp and grits was too salty while the grits were lumpy. The only things we liked were the sides.

The Tequila Old-Fashioned and Bacon infused Old-Fashioned cocktails were fantastic! We definitely felt the effects . The lobster Mac and cheese was very tasty, indeed! The steak frites dish was also very good. They could have trimmed a little more fat off, but otherwise, the flavor was excellent! Please try the cornbread! They’re prices are typical of trendy downtown restaurants. $$$$. Highly recommended.

The food was delicious even though my créme brûlée waffles were cold and would of enjoyed it if it was warm. Our waitress was not that great. She acted like she was not in the mood which it was a disappointment cause everything else was great. I would of given a 5 star
