China Star serves Americanized-Chinese takeout as well, but I only go here for their authentic Chinese dishes. The food is really good and I’ve received great service every time. The restaurant is quiet with light music in the background which I enjoyed. This was my favorite place to eat at when I lived in the area!

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant, i felt sorry when they close the store on Sheila Ln, that one was very near to me. Now I have to go all the way to Cox Rd but I don’t mind cuz their food is worth the drive. Everything there is delicious, the prices are affordable and the sizes are decent.

What a pleasant surprise. I always enjoy tasty food, especially authentic Chinese cooking. I have been coming to China Star for over 10 years, and regularly get a carry out order when not dining in. Social distancing is a good thing for people’s safety, but it puts a dent in our life style.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in Richmond and one of the few places that my entire family can agree on. Have been coming here for about 10 years. Staff is wonderful, food is excellent. When the dining room is open you will notice it is mostly Asian folks eating there- the mark of a great Chinese place In my opinion. Lunch specials are such a good value and good size portions. This place is the best.

We started going to China Star in 2003 and actually almost ate their every night for the following year. We continue to eat with them as it has a most enjoyable atmosphere as well as THE BEST food in town. Sometimes we do get carry out but prefer the soothing music and the wait staff..

This restaurant has always been wonderful, and their health policies during this pandemic have made China Star our favorite. Even though taking our payment over the phone and bringing our food out to our car is more work for them, they gladly provide these services as they reduce the number contact points and protect their customers. China Star’s informed and socially responsible policies should serve as an example to other businesses!

We have been going to China Star for over 7 years. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is wonderful and the service is top notch! During this pandemic they were still willing and able to provide their delicious menu curbside! I would highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you China Star! 🙂

Food was good. Chicken wings were sort of bland though, but it is a Chinese place…I ordered the special Lo Mien…And Shrimp Toast..The Shrimp Toast was lacking, compared to others I’ve had. They use just regular bread, nothing special or thicker. Other places use Texas Toast, or something bigger. Noodles were good though. Other than that, I haven’t had much else from where, would have to continue to try more items on the menu and update as I continue.

I have gone to China star several times and the food was pretty good however yesterday I went and ordered their curbside to go and it was the best Chinese food I have possibly ever had!! The portions were great, the service was great and the food was delicious! Not sure if they have a new cook or new recipes but yesterday’s food was outstanding!!

The food has always been very good, however lately the amount of meat or shrimp in the dishes has been decreasing at an alarming rate accompanied by an increase in price. I understand the need to be profitable but I have found the value proposition of this establishment has declined.
