some of the best sushi i’ve ever had; I’ve visited Ora multiple times, and needless to say, i’m never disappointed. excellent sushi; it has this fresh taste and a refreshing aftertaste that you can only find in high quality sushi. the staff and workers are always so nice and welcoming: always up to talk and have a conversation. the atmosphere is so relaxing: darkish lights, cool tones, this cool wooden architecture. a perfect place to have a conversation with good, refreshing food. i highly recommend!!

Best sushi experience I’ve had in Andersonville. Had a baked oyster appetizer that I’m still hungry for and it came with 2 bowls – perfect to share on a date. The miso soup was authentic and full of flavor. Also got some edamame that came with seasoned garlic salt that I haven’t had anywhere else. The signature rolls and sushi sets hit the spot with high quality tuna and eel. Next time I’ll be sure to take advantage of the BYOB!

Its good food. Byob with 2 dollars charge. Server doing great. Only thing is I stench after left the restaurant smelt like smokey kitchen. Wondering its a shushi place why I smell as if I cooked in the kitchen.

Ora has a small but targeted and great menu of nigiri and maki. The signature maki are all unique and very well made… so well made that no soy sauce or Wasabi are required. The setting is comfortable and intimate, with the sushi bar being in the dining room. Everything on the menu has been a tasty surprise of flavors. Dinner reservations are definitely recommended with the small number of seats available.

Good dinner experience at Ora. Everything tasted fresh, clean and delicious. The rolls were innovative and the nigiri had a good balance or rice and fish. The spicy tuna roll came with the nigri set and it had a very nice spice level! If you can’t take spicy food, would recommend telling them in advance for a different roll.

It was my first time going to Ora, and I was not disappointed at all. The quality of the sushi was excellent, better than any other sushi I’ve ever eaten; it tasted so fresh and flavorful. There’s also plenty of other small plates and non-sushi food as well. I tried the oyster motoyaki as my appetizer, and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place to all sushi lovers, a perfect, relaxing environment and atmosphere as well.

Yes! Very fresh sushi. The owner is a bit harsh with newer servers (yes, she put the plate down facing the wrong direction, but you didn’t need to scold her in front of a customer and make her turn it around just as I was about to start eating). I would be back. It’s places like these that really should be allowed to serve at least culturally specific alcohol if not a full drink menu. One of the oddities of Chicago.

In my view, Ora is far and away the best sushi spot in Chicago, and among the best restaurants period. The quality of the fish and the attention to detail in preparation are outstanding. On top of that, they’ve got great service, reasonable prices, and it’s BYOB. If you haven’t tried it, give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed!
