Aztec Dave’s is our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. Staff is very friendly, and the food is very good. We love their agua fresca (flavors rotate), and we always get chips and guac (both are delish), and either their burrito gordo or taco dinner (both are delish).

Yo super awesome spot. Got the shrimp bowl and it was so taste. Staff is super nice as well. Talked to bar manager in the alley after I rode crit mass. Tipped the bartender well as she was a sweetheart. Everyone having fun and and enjoying themselves on a Friday night. Great spot. Beautiful artwork. Would return.

Tried this place during Chicago Restaurant week and was not disappointed. We ordered from the pre-fix menu and everything was delicious and huge portions. The pictures don’t do justice of how flavorful and delicious the food is. It’s run by father, son and wife. They have been in food truck/catering business for 7 years and 1st year as a restaurant. I highly recommend it and always be patient & support small family restaurants. You won’t be disappointed

On a random Thursday night with bare cupboards and no menu plan, we were pleasantly surprised to discover that Aztec Dave’s was incredibly delicious. We ordered online and our admittedly high-mess potential choices (pozole and quesabirria with consumme) were packaged super well and arrived piping hot.

Loved the intimacy of the location and the food was great. Music was a bit loud, but it was late on a Friday night when we stopped in for dinner. Service was wonderful and really enjoyed the neighborhood vibe. Good, local place to grab dinner or just hang out at the bar for a drink (or two).

I ordered a veggie burrito and bit into it and realized they gave me a burrito with meat in it. After I told them the error the bartender was cool about it and offered me a drink on the house, which was nice of him. But completely unacceptable for the staff to be mixing up a vegetarian order with meat like that. And the bar is pretty dark so it’s hard to see the little details in the food.

Came for restaurant week. Amazing food and worth the price even outside of the special menu. My friend ordered the regular menu burrito, Definitely a huge serving and very delicious. I got the restaurant week bundle. I found the aguachile shrimp tostada, spicier than my norm in my opinion but very delicious. The torta was very savory and the meat was tender and delicious. I picked the flan for dessert and was also very great, wish it was sweeter but thats my personal preference. Definitely going to come again but most likely in the afternoon/evening.
