I firmly believed that I could never hope to enjoy another culinary experience again after visiting Olives a Greek Kitchen and having the Chicken Artemis and a slice of their Baklava Cheesecake for my birthday lunch. I was so inspired by my meal that I attempted to recreate the Chicken Artemis at home and ended up with something that, while truly fantastic, could never hope to measure up to my muse. I will continue to tirelessly toil away in the kitchen with hopes to concoct something that might bring me a fraction of the satisfaction that my fleeting time at Olives A Greek Kitchen did until the process drives me to madness, assuming it hasn’t already.

So delicious. I had the Cuban gyro and a side of the rosemary bread load. I never got tired of either. The gyro was a hefty size, but not too big. We sat outside which was shaded with patio umbrellas. Hope to come again on next years vacation.

We came on the last day of vacation at peak time- around 1. The service was a bit slow but I don’t think our waitress stopped for a moment to even catch her breath- the place is tiny but SO busy. Even though it was a bit slow (perhaps not enough staff that day), our waitress was wonderful and quick to bring everything from our drinks, water for our pups outside and more napkins. I hope that those who read about the service plan accordingly and still visit this place!

We had the Greek salad with gyro meat, the classic Gyro, the watermelon gazpacho soup and the chicken Artemis. It was all fantastic but the chicken Artemis was especially wonderful. Finished with baklava cheesecake and Nutella baklava – to die for. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely go back if we’re in the area again.

A new find during my visit to Manteo for business. Nicole is a top-notch server. She is both gracious and kind. We came here twice, and on our second visit Nicole remembered what we ordered, down to the type of tea. Food was beautifully seasoned, and it was clear that the freshest seasoning mixed with the love of Greek cooking goes into the dishes prepared by this family owned and operated eatery. Olives A Greek Kitchen is a must vist when in Manteo.

Holy cow was this place good. I could have eaten my weight in the warm pita and fresh hummus. The gyro hit all the right flavor points and the tzatziki was probably the best I’ve ever had. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Wednesday lunch with my husband, 2 kids and our friends visiting us. Food great, service horrible! I can not recommend this restaurant based on the worst service I have had in the area. One waitress for a very busy lunch crowd. We asked to have one check spilt for $49 on one card and $42 on the other card and she was too busy so just could spilt it evenly. The waitress yelled out at one point for someone in the kitchen to seat customers waiting in line. Just hectic, busy and they shouldn’t be operating with one person and not being able to charge credit cards correctly. 2 stars for a great salad!

Friendly staff and delicious Greek menu made for a wonderful experience for my wife and I. My only regret is that we couldn’t enjoy every item available. The choices we made were extremely satisfying though. Eventually we will return and work our way through the entire menu.

Amazing fresh food, unbeatable view of the marina, and the most friendly staff. My white bean salad was HUGE and the produce was so fresh and flavorful. It tasted like it came from someone’s garden. Don’t forget the Nutella baklava at the end!
