We only use the freshest, highest quality toppings on our pizza. And when we say local, we mean it—we make our own sausage, right here in our kitchen. When it’s all done and out of the oven, we take a big pair of scissors and cut the whole thing into strips.
A family-friendly space with an ample bar selection for all occasions. Our second location boasts high ceilings and tons of booths, with flatscreen TVs perfect for enjoying any and all sporting event.
Relaxed pizzeria & bar featuring thin, malted-crust pies & an all-Midwestern craft-beer list. Based on 925 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.2 stars. Price $$

Contemporary cozy modern atmosphere. Great service from busser/food runner! We even met the boss! Unique pizza combos. We signed up for the loyalty program and will be back!

Who goes to a most excellent pizza place and orders salad? I do! Taking nothing away from the pizza, which is excellent. The build your salad is a great treat… seemingly unlimited options for toppings and greens!

Great outdoor patio for dining, really lovely flower boxes and a canopy of shade trees. This summer ambience made the meal wonderful. Service was good; pizza was pretty good! It’s not super thick crust but has some thickness to it and sweetness to it. It’s really tasty pizza. I also recommend the honey chicken poppers appetizer- so good!!

Unfortunately, I have not yet had a positive experience at *this* Roots location. The pizza is good, but prices are high, and the service—whether dining in or ordering out—is also pretty bad, even over all these years. When there is so much good pizza in Chicago at other restaurants or other Roots locations, why would I eat here if only to have bad service? I also advise against ordering on their website, as the website will allow you to place an order even if they are closed (Google has incorrect open hours), so you will pay for … no pizza.

It was decent pizza, not sure if it’s for sure worth the price, but it was a nice place to sit with a group of friends. The mozzarella sticks were good though, so I do recommend ordering those.

I rarely write reviews, but this dinner was so terrible I had to pop one on. The kids ordered sandwiches that they barely touched even after a full day on the water. They were dry and overcooked. The taco pizza had almost an entire bag of chips on top and a blah flavor. The music was too loud for a nearly-empty restaurant and we had to ask for water refills and the check—service was friendly, but not at all attentive. It is a cute spot that could be so much better.

Sausage was great. Too much peppers and mushrooms in the vegetable pizza — but, now I know …

The pizza itself is solid, I ordered a 16” taco pizza tonight, largest size. Hot and ready, the crust tasted fantastic. The chips, tomatoes, and lettuce were on the side, in order to avoid a soggy pizza. Good plan, but, the lettuce was lacking, didn’t even cover half of the pizza, there were a few more chips, but not enough to cover the entire pizza. And a very small container of chopped tomatoes, that covered 2 pieces of pizza. No Bueno.

Honestly, this place is way too expensive for the mediocre food they give you. when I went to pick up my own food I was asked to personally tip for the service although I came in right before the time and waited 20 minutes after the supposed time of delivery. Additionally, I don’t think there’s much variety besides some classic American staples. Truthfully, there are way better places for pizza in the entire city.
